Ok so a friend of mine and I are going to WDW/DCL Nov 14-21. Well his ultimate dream besides staying the castle is to eat there. I assured him at this close to the date it would be impossible. So while doing ressies online last night I tried for CRT. And after navigating thru the various points i was able to score a ressie!!! I couldn't believe it. Ok so that was great but it conflicted with our Keys to the Kingdom tour so today I tried again and found yet another ressie available for the same day (still no good) and then one the morning we leave head out for our cruise. So perfect and so easy what is going on?????

I noticed the same thing.
I was able to look up reservations and find them for the next day (I didn't go, but was just noticing it).

Maybe a variety of things?
Bad-ish reviews?
People too busy doing other stuff?
Too expensive?
Other princess meal alternatives for 1 credit?

Lots of reasons not to go...lots of reasons to go.
Maybe just low times of year or other things going on like it might be a night where Fantasmic is showing and it's the only show for the week so everyone will be there that night?

It is interesting though.

We were just there a few wks ago and there were cast members at the podium telling passing guests that they had open reservations if anyone was interested. My husband was shocked and so was I.

we hd this happen too. we added on an extra day so we needed another ressie. dd of course wanted crt! ugh! in january or february for our trip the last two weeks of april. 63 days out and our ta scored a lunch ressie. not sure what's going on, but gotta say i love having a happy princess in my house!

Because there are other princess character meals now and CRT has gotten so expensive (over $40 for an adult for breakfast!) and requires 2 TS credits, that has taken the edge off the demand for sure. Also, I do think the word on the street that it's "impossible" to book is causing some people to not even try, thereby lessening the demand. The last 3-4 times I've tried booking it, I've had no problems whatsovever, even when I try very close to my trip dates.

and what's odd is that you had no problem, and I can't get one at all for October!

Well I certainly did not have that experience just now for September!

You guys just had some great luck, I guess! :thumbsup2

I hear ya, we've been in October before not been able to get a ressie there.

Probably something to do with the free dining I would imagine.

Thanks everyone like I said I was just shocked at how easy it was glad that it seems to be a growing trend. I love Akershus (mainly cause you get to meet Ariel most times) but it's his dream to eat at CRT. We were going to do the 1900 Park Fare bfast but I cancelled it and now he wants to do that as well. And I thought we were going to keep the costs down lol.

I usually make my "must" ADR's 180 days out. I have no idea how I overlooked CRT, but I did. I have been trying to book the last week of September...for months! Nothing is available for breakfast, lunch or dinner. I'm surprised so many are finding availability. :confused3

We had an ADR for October but I had to change the date we would be at the MK. Now of course I cannot get an ADR for the new day. We are even going during the free dining blackout dates.

The reason you can't get CRT reservations in September and October is because that is the height of free dining season.

Otherwise, CRT, over the last couple of years, hasn't really been that hard to get into, because they have raised the prices so high and most especially because it is 2 TS credits on the dining plan. The DDP has grown in popularity each year and people just don't want to spluge on 2 TS credits, when you can go to 1900 Park Fare or Akershus and see princesses for only 1 credit.

I think it just depends on the time you're going. I was just able to get 2 reservations...one lunch and one dinner for Le Cellier. I'm about to cancel them, though, since we're paying OOP and it seems to be an overhyped restaurant.

keep trying hard this week, your 45 day mark is coming up and I have always been lucky getting a ADR that week for CRT.
