I have this excrusiating pain in my in my leg. Its where the hip and leg meet. Its on the "inside". Nothing hurts when I apply pressure to it. When I sit, I feel perfectly fine. Its only when I walk - I can't put any weight on it.

It happened yesterday afternoon, at 3p. I thought it was a charlie horse and it would pass, but it hasn't.

Any ideas what the heck this could be. I'm going to make an appt with the Dr. (I'm assuming I have to go there first for insurance purposes, then he can refer me to the next stop), but feel like a goofball, cause I don't know what it is.

Please help me :goodvibes :goodvibes

You could have pulled something.

Does your back hurt at all or do you have a history of disc problems? When I herniated my discs, I had pain there and the doctor said it was related.

Sciatic nerve?

When the preformus (sp?) muscled is inflamed it can press on your sciatic nerve.
Chiroprator and massage therapy works for me.

I do have some minor back problems, usually in the small of my back. Your "diagnosis" does make perfect sense. Thanks. :goodvibes

What did you do to it?

The best part of it is that I did absolutely NOTHING. Standing in the kitchen, signing DD's assignment book and boom....shooting pain in my leg and voila, there you go.

It was the stangest thing.

I have that same problem, my back went out. My saiatic nerve hurts as well. I take warm baths and use a heating pad. I need the chiropractor in a few days. Jo

I think you gave me your hip pain because I suddenly got a sharp, stabbing pain in my back under my right shoulder bone. Man it hurts. I can't take a deep breath. I have someone coming in 15 minutes to drop something off then I am going to break out the heating pad and go to bed. Mine feels like I pulled a muscle but I was only putting some clothes in the washing machine when it happened. OUCH.

Did you twist at all when you were standing, even a little? It may be a pinched nerve.

Yep. Most likely it's your back, then. Do the back stretches and it probably will help.

Not to scare you, but it could be a blood clot. When I had one, the pain was just as you descbribed. Go and get it checked.
