Nope! At least not down here in the warm Carribean waters. I believe Danielle, which was up in the more mid/north Atlantic fizzled, but no one else has.

What I find interesting is the large discrepancy in forecasted paths. Accuweather has it coming into the Gulf and NOAA has it staying in the Atlantic. But of course, as we all know it is way too early to tell and TS/hurricanes *never* go where they are initially predicted to go.

Well, it looks like we may get a hurricane on our trip no matter what. We are flying out tomorrow morning & appear to have escaped Ivan (at least for now) - I think we'll still get a lot of rain in the next couple of days though. We'll also be at WDW thru next weekend - so, it looks like we might get to see Jeanne, too!

Oh well - I'd rather be wet at Disney than be anywhere else!

I just read that there are very powerful thunderstorms coming off of Africa, mix that with warm waters near the carribean-BINGO-Hurricane's.

OMG- last night the path had it heading straight up north. I'm sorry I clicked on that link. Dh says we should consider postponing if it gets closer.
I told him, "Forget it - I have waited YEARS for this trip, been researching for 2 years and heavily planning for the last 8 months. I don't care if the world is ending - WE ARE GOING!!!!"

We're supposed to leave Thursday. I was so bummed all day yesterday, then last evening it looked good. Now, not so good again. It is so hard to make assumptions though, because everyone says something different and it keeps changing!

Exactly. Which is why no one should go into a panic until it gets closer to us. Hurricane paths are never set in stone. We've got the technology to track them, know how powerful they are and how fast they're moving. We just don't have the technology to see into the future. Definitely keep an eye on it...plan for the worst, hope for the best. Just don't cause unecessary stress on yourselves when it could end up being nothing.
