Inspired by the favorite sequels thread. Some of those sequels were terrible. I personally didn't like Little Mermaid II. I love the Little Mermaid. The sequel was just aweful. :sad2:

OOO..Remy loved the LM2 LOL. She keeps asking when they will have LM3. I didn't like Cinderella 2...stupid waste of $$.

I think most of the sequels look lame (most of which I haven't even seen). The only one I really is Toy Story 2. I'll list more when i think of them :)

By far...........Lion King 1/2 which DS is watching right now.

yep - Lion King 1 1/2. Watched this on the disney channel once.
at the end...I just rolled my eyes and was glad I only wasted a half hour of my life...it was cute, but not THAT cute.

Cinderella 2 - I want my money back on that one! Unfortunately the kids seem to like it. I don't like the format of 3 short stories as a sequel.

Put me down as another vote for Cinderella 2....but I actually kinda liked Lion King 1 1/2...Kind of an interesting idea to tell the same story but from a completely different perspective.

I like L K 1 1/2 also. I just saw Mulan II and I thought that was pretty bad.

::yes:: This was the first Disney movie I regretted spending money on! And the last so far.

The only Disney sequels I've ever seen are Toy Story II and the first half of The Little Mermaid II (saw it on TV once).

Another vote for Cindy 2.

My 5 yo DD could have written better stories than those three -- far too sugary sweet. "Be yourself" :crazy2:

The Atlantis sequel

Oh, yeah....That one was pretty bad...'Course, the original wasn't anything to write home about either, so what else can you expect ;)

I haven't seen Mulan II but I suspect I would classify it in there as well.

Many people hated Return of Jafar as well.

It's sad, but this is just indicative of what Disney has become under the past several years of "leadership" of Michael Eisner. No innovation...no daring new ideas...just the same old derivative crap from one film to the next. I'll never forget the time we sat down to watch a Disney movie with DD, and EVERY preview on the DVD...all 5 of them...were for sequels. Not an original idea in the bunch. The day they got rid of all animators save those doing cheesy Saturday-morning quality faire and "computer" animation that Pixar does 100 times better, I pretty much gave up on expecting too much "magic" from Disney films.

Walt would have hated what this company has become.
