I'm thinking of staying at PC instead of a moderate, but I'm unsure if I will like it. Are there any things you dislike about this resort? I'd like to be forewarned and make an intelligent choice! :flower:

hate to say it, but there is more riff-raff at POP

What in the world does this mean? :confused3

The worst thing I experienced was being awoken in the middle of the night by the guy next door taking a pee. It was so loud, I thought it was DH but he was sound asleep at the time. EWWWWWWWW

more commoners

COMMONERS?!!! COMMONERS?!!! :rotfl:

I won't comment further I guess, although I really want to...

Commoners?!?!? :rotfl:

I wonder what year and country this person thinks they are living in???

Well, I am a "commoner" and you are likely to find me anywhere! They even let me 'sneak' in the deluxes!

I'll take riff raff :jumping1: over snobs:snooty: anyday. And guess what? You'll see some of each everywhere in WDW. I just ignore it and stay in my Happy Place!

You are going to see riff-raff(!) at any resort, from Pop to the Grand Floridian.

Amen to that - it is so true. There was no difference at Poly then any other resorts, but we also have never stayed at POP.

I have not stayed at POP but when I asked a similar question awhile back I received some of these...

Very noisy between and above rooms etc.. - doors closing, toilets flushing, phone converstions, maids vacuuming next door, people outside running the corridor, and if you have a pool view it can also get loud.

Line for buses - not so much at the actual resort but at the park waiting to go back. I will say, we noticed that AK and MGM when we stayed at Poly in May. All the All Stars had long lines as well as Port Orleans, I don't know if they would have all fit in one bus. None of the other resorts buses seemed bad at any park.

Food Court is crazy and loud and dirty in the AM - esp 1 hr before park openings.

Really they were the only ones that I remember that were not personal preferences. Even some of the above may not affect others the same.

I can tell everyone from first hand experience having stayed in all 3 levels of Disney Resort, the noise levels in rooms are all about equal, and as far as bus service goes, the worst we had was at a deluxe(AKL). There may be way more people at the value bus stops at the parks, but in my experience, Disney knows that and sends more buses more often to accommodate them. Just go and have fun and roll with the flow. You'll be at WDW!:wizard:

Worst thing is being in the 90's building as it's far away from everything. :earboy2: Overall, we liked this resort. :cheer2:

I was pleasantly surprised by Pop Century. I'm a mod kind of gal (not quite riff raff but not hoity toity either :earboy2: ) and stayed at Pop during a last minute trip in January. The bus service was good, the rooms clean, and the riff raff in control!

I really can't think of anything to complain about. The rooms are small and it took longer than it should have to check in, but that's about it. I'd stay there again.

The bartender at the outside bar was rude, the pools are boring and there is no hot tub. However, I also really liked this resort. It's my favorite value resort and I would gladly stay here for a short (3-4 day) trip. If I'm at WDW for a longer stay, I will miss the bigger rooms and better pool area of the moderates and deluxes.

Well, this riff raffer is most likely going to be at POP again this year. :cool1:

I can't think of anything! I would have to say the rooms are a little small but who cares at the rate you can get them and how little you are in the room. I have heard that it can be loud but we requested the 50" bldg top floor facing the lake (thanks to the board suggestions!) and we got it. It was VERY quiet. It was probably one of the furthest rooms from the hall, but the walk was still pretty short, nothing at all to complain about.
I agree with the PP that they send more buses to the parks for these resorts. We left the MK at closing and I told my DH we would probably be in line for 1 hour to get home. In less than 20 minutes they had sent at least 10-15 buses and we were on the bus onthe way home!
Have a great trip!

I could hear toilets flushing when I was awake, but they weren't loud enough to wake me when I was asleep.

Someone on the floor above us dropped something, and my sleeping dd roused herself enough to say, "Come in." She thought she was at home and someone knocked on the door. We agreed that it was a really nice surprise to dream that you're at home and wake up at Disney World! :earsgirl: I usually have the opposite happen to me. :sad2:

I was fine with POP, but I'm easy to please.

Anita

I think the differences between a moderate and a value that you might notice would be:

1 sink instead of 2

plastic cups instead of glass

more rooms at the resort

busier food court

larger than life theming
