What is the Route for the VWL Boat to MK?

We are staying at VWL in October, and I already plan to go to Mickey's Backyard BBQ one evening. However, we also want to try Trail's End while we're "in the neighborhood," so here's my question...

What is the route the boats take between VWL and MK? We will have our car there, but we don't plan to drive to MK... only the other parks. It seems that it would be fun to try Trail's End on the way BACK to the resort for naps (lunch), but we could do dinner when we are headed back to MK. I'll make this decision based on the route so we aren't riding the boat around and around. Is the stop at FW on the way TO MK or HOME FROM MK?

The answer is it depends.

Before 3 pm the route is MK-FW-WL-MK
After 3 pm the route is MK-WL-FW-MK

So, if you ear at Trails End for dinner, taking the boat, MK will be the first stop. If you eat at Trails End for lunch, MK would be the second stop.

The Wilderness Lodge/MK boat no longer makes a stop at Fort Wilderness. Fort Wilderness now has their own dedicated boat to the Magic Kingdom.

However the Wilderness Lodge boat to the Contemporary still makes a stop at Fort Wilderness.

That is exactly correct. There is also a direct bus back and forth between Ft. Wilderness and Wilderness Lodge. There is also a very pleasant walking trail between the two resorts.

VERY good to know! So if we want to have lunch at FW, take the ferry from MK to FW, then to get back to the resort from there, go from FW to Contemporary to MK.

Or for dinner, take Contemporary ferry to FW, then FW ferry to MK. Excellent!
