I am curious what the new hot ADR is at the moment. I know that Le Cellier dinner was a bear to snag back when it was 1 credit and many of my friends have even gotten CRT breakfast with no trouble lately. What is your experience or opinion?

Yeah, it's deffinately 'Ohana. We personally don't get it, we have had nothing but awful experiences, but if that means much better restaurants are easier to get into, I'm all for it.

'Ohana dinner. Breakfast is not nearly as hot as dinner.

Agree with this as well. We did it once and have never had a desire to return. However I have been thinking of giving it another try since it has been a few years since we ate there.

I agree that the hardest ADR to get has been 'Ohana. I got a breakfast at CRT and a Thanksgiving meal booked with no trouble, but the 'Ohana ressie took some trying.

Having said that, can anyone tell me what the big deal is with 'Ohana? I have a dinner reservation there in November, but I'm wondering what all the fuss is about. :confused3

Thanks! :goodvibes

I'm not quite sure what all the fuss is with 'Ohana, however- my family does love it. We had been to the world many many times before we ever tried it. A few years back, while on the phone trying to get a ressie for Chef Mickeys (unsuccessfully) the representative mentioned that she did have something for 'Ohana. She was very excited, like this was an accomplishment. I was not sure why, but I took the ressie. We've gone back every trip, ever since. It is now my Mom's favorite place. I, personally, love the atmosphere. I find the food to be very good. Some members of my family are sold on the all you can eat aspect, even if they aren't eating that much. :rolleyes1 Everyone has a favorite dish there...mine are the chicken wings. Yuuum. I know that it tends to be a "love it or hate it" kind of place. But we do love it.

It's unusual, it's all you can eat, there's entertainment for the kids. I don't think the food is all that special but it isn't run of the mill either.

I guess we're not in the know, we had a dinner ADR for 'Ohana booked for next week but cancelled it for something else, can't remember now which one. We had breakfast there in 2007 and it was good, but the dinner menu didn't overly appeal to us. Other than Boma all our dinners are signatures this year, so we're excited to try those.

ITA, it sounds like Ohana is very hot, but everyone else is welcome to it---both times we had an early dinner ADR there we ended up standing around waiting to be seated for almost an hour. No thanks. Everything I've read since then sounds like they still suffer from the same lack of organizational skills.

I think a lot of it has to do with the DDP. It's pretty expensive to pay for OOP but comes off as a good value if using a TS credit. However, IMO, the noddles, dumplings and wings taste no different then something you could find in the freezer section at a super market, the meat and poultry were overcooked, flavorless and dry, the emcee is loud, obnoxious and intrusive on the meal and the service has been god awful the last couple of times.

In the end, the only positives we have taken from our last couple of visits there is that the shrimp is pretty good, the dessert is good and if your lucky enough to snag a window seat that faces MK durring Wishes it's a pretty nice view.

I have booking my ADR's for the last month for an end of Aug trip, and have been able to get a reservation for Le Cellier (for lunch), CRT, Jiko's, Flying Fish, Coral Reef but have tried repeatedly to get in at Ohana with no luck.

Judging by some of the reviews I am glad I haven't.

When I had DreamsUnlimited handle the ADR's just after my 6 month mark Biergarten was the one I almost missed out on. Chef Mickey for breakfast, CRT and 'Ohana for dinner came through fine.
