In the planning stages... I have the first Field Book. What is the recent book published? Thanks for any help!!

I'm also curious if there is a big difference between the 2 editions? I just ordered the 1st edition at a great price off overstock.com, and am hoping it will be good!

There is a second edition which came out in 2004. I have this version and it is already out of date due to different ports of call, You never know with bad weather. This book ios invaluable to you if you have never cruised b efore and even if you have cruise it is a good resource.

I have both and love both...HOWEVER...the THIRD edition is currently a the printers. If you cruise isn't for several months you might want to wait and get the "latest and greatest". Check out www.passporter.com for release dates.

According to the Barnes and Noble web site, the 2005 edition is supposed to be available on March 28, 2005. A word of caution though, last month it said February 28, 2005.
