what is the most impressive thing you have ever baked/cooked?

I made around 100 mini GF/DF pineapple upside down cakes for my wedding. And a couple batches had to be safe for egg allergies and a pineapple allergy. Note: I don't even like pineapple upside down cake. 😆

Mini cheesecakes! I was in a show at the time and we went up in January and I always help my mom bake cookies for the holidays, so we were making extra due to needing trays for my cast and crew for our week between Xmas and New Years rehearsals! I decided to go the extra step and make mini cheesecakes. Some were plain, some were topped with blueberry jam and others with chocolate and caramel sauce! I even named them based off songs and scenes from the show and made a fancy sign! I need to make them again soon!

There's a cookbook called Death By Chocolate by Marcel Desaulnier. He had a recipe for a really decadent chocolate hazelnut cake. Absolutely delicious!

One birthday (for my daughter) I made a cake with a fancy dress. using a Barbie doll.

And there was one Thanksgiving where I did the whole meal, including turkey, ham, and tofurky. For 20 people.

Either a shepherd's pie or Gaston's cinnamon rolls! Both took HOURS to make properly. Or maybe it was just me. ;-)

don't recall but I'm sure it was something in culinary in college

I’m not sure but I think if you asked my husband he’d say the time I made him a chocolate cake for his birthday with an entire cheesecake in the middle (cheesecake is his most favorite thing ever and I’m not a fan so I never make it)

Any chance you have a recipe for that beast? My husband’s favorite is also cheesecake and he would freak if he got that for his birthday.

3 tiered wedding cake for my son a few months ago. I love baking but I’m never doing that again. So much work!

I HEAR YOU!! I made a three tier (each tier had 3 layers) red velvet cake for DD's wedding. The cake and frosting were made from scratch, and the frosting is the old-fashioned kind where you first cook a pudding-like base and then add butter and sugar. It was delicious- decorated with berries and miniature edible veggies- but boy was that stressful, and took so much time and planning. Still... it came out spectacularly well and DD LOVED it, so it was worth it!

My nephew and I took 3 cake decorating classes together, one of my final cakes was a 6 layer chocolate cake with peanut butter filling and chocolate icing. It was an absolute monster of a cake.

Please forgive me being a sweaty mess, I was moving fast to get this one done during our class time!
