DF is pushing 6'4, 205 lbs and wears a 36x34, or 35x34 when I can find them. We're both working on losing weight - his goal is 185-190, and he used to be a 34x34 when he weighed that much.

depending on the brand I'll wear either a 36 x 34 or a 34 x 34.

I'm 6'5 and about 225.

That's what two of my sons wear as they, too are 6'5. My middle son who's 6'2 where 33x32. DH before WW wore 44x30. Now, after WW, he wears a 38x30.

Good for you..i'm still unsure why you singled out my post and chose to inform me that my husband must be overweight or obese. You have never seen what he looks like. The topic was jean sizes, you chose to single out my post and turn it into a health infomercial as if I was ignorant and needed you to fill me in on the subject.

I may have quoted your post and made a broad based comment, but it was not to single you out, rather to extend the conversation around "average" and/or "healthy" weight and how obesity (and being overweight) have impacted things like sizes of jeans (the current subject).

To remark on never seeing someone, you are correct, I have never seen what your husband looks like. However, there are some determining factors that can be used, and I even ensured I mentioned that BMI can be impacted by those who are muscular/atheletic (which usually results in smaller waist sizes until you get to some very muscular builds).

Unfortunately, people take a lot of offense and prefer to not talk frank about things like weight, BMI, etc, so I can understand you may be offended, but again, it wasn't meant as an "attack" or to be offensive. Rather it was more about being open about discussing serious issues and how it relates to the topic at hand.

That is how I read it as well. ;)

Me too. An infomercial from someone who has made a significant life-change and now feels the need to point out how the rest of the world is still fat. At least that what it sounded like to me.

Actually, unless he is extremely muscular, I would garner he is either overweight or borderline obese being 6' and 200 pounds depending on the BMI calculator you use. I don't mean this in a negative way, but it's part of the rising trend in obesity and "acceptance" of what is average and normal weight. For a 6' Male, his ideal weight should be sub 180, again, excluding those who are very athletic or have a very large muscular build.

Really? Because what I underlined says that unless he is extremely muscular you 'garner' he is over weight or border line obese? To me, and obviously others, it seems you did just single out what *I* posted

The topic was a poll about jean sizes. If you want to discuss obesity maybe you should start a thread about that and see who wants to play. ;)

My 41yr old DH wears a 31x32. He's 5'10" around 150lbs (give or take a pound)

My 14yr old DS wears a 29x32 (sometimes with a belt) He's 5'9" and 128lbs

Yup. Look how much Disney had to spend to deepen the canals at It's A Small World at Disneyland because people are so much heavier now than 45 years ago that the boats were bottoming out.

They really had to do that? I guess I shouldn't be surprised, but wow.

My DH is 6'0" and wears either a 34x34 or 36x34. Actually 34s are usually a bit too long for him, but 32s are too short!

I am also 6'0" and I need a 36" inseam. I have practically no torso.

The topic at hand wasn't meant to be a serious discussion on obesity, which I agree is a serious issue in this country. You obviously had an "ah-ha" moment and decided to lose weight. That's something to be proud of but shouldn't be used to get all preachy at people.

For what it's worth my DH has some weight to lose and wears 36x30. However, even when he was 15-20 lb lighter he wore the same size because he likes his jeans loose.

I wear a size 2 but wouldn't be considered underweight because women's clothes are just cut bigger than they were 10 years ago.

DH -- 33 x 34

DS15 -- 31 x 32 or 34. He hasn't worn jeans in so long now.
