What is the most annoying thing you encountered at Disneyland/California Adventures?

I think it is easy to be unaware that you're committing the very acts you complain about in others. I discovered this at the parks with family/friends. They would complain if someone stopped in the middle of the walkway to look at a map or whatever, but then I'd see them do the same thing without realizing it. My mom complains about loud people at other tables but doesn't notice that when our group is laughing and joking, it can be just as loud. It's easy to complain about strollers and not notice that you cut them off sometimes yourself. Those are things that I'm hyper aware of since I go to the parks a lot. I also have one of those personalities that makes me overly sensitive so I don't think I do those things very often, if at all, simply because I'm always on mental guard for it. I'm sure I slip up, though!

Rude guests. The most memorable for me was this woman who had a wheelchair, but was not using it and refused to fold it up as my family was trying to leave the park. She proceeded to yell at us when we tried to walk around her.

Groups of people holding us up at the FP return entry debating with the CM because they either don't read the directions on the FP ticket or are incapable of understanding simple instructions.

This is so funny because people who stop in the middle of the road is a pet peeve. one time, I did exactly that. My husband got all up in my business like I do when I get mad at people for doing that. We laughed so hard we couldn't stop!

My biggest annoyance is people who complain. They complain about how hot it is. Or the lines. Or the prices. You are at Disneyland. Have a great time. Or the people who keep trying to get some sort of pixie dust. It's only pixie dust if it is given without being asked for.

When I'm pushing my kids in the stroller, leaving room between the stroller and the people walking ahead - and then someone trying to zip by, breezes past me and jumps in front of the stroller. Which results in me coming to an abrupt stop and my kid's heads flinging backward... or ramming them by mistake since they were not supposed to do that!

Entitled people. Period.

Squishers... when you were waiting - and they try to squeeze into your bubble, and squish you the whole show.

People who swear like crazy in line in their conversation. I've always asked them to stop since my kids are with me, and usually that works... but once the guy was like "OK" and kept doing it.

Oh my gosh.....having just returned and trying to navigate with two parents in ECV's I completely agree. We would try and post one person in front and two on each side with the parents following directly behind each other -- didn't matter everyone still tried to step in the open space (which is not enough space to come to a dead stop on). By the end of the trip I felt like (but I didn't) just letting them run into people and saying "well, if your not smarter". I almost think Disney should put a warning on the maps they give out at the gates that says something like "please remember that strollers and wheel chairs can not stop on a dime, cut them off at your own risk" :)

I literally just posted this on the pevious page lol I specifically make that space for a reason but people get annoyed with me being slow due to not being able to menuever through a crowd as easily as one body can so they slide right by me and into that empty space!

Thankfully someone knows what I mean! That's so incredibly annoying!

This past trip, we were walking down the Main Street sidewalk. We walk at a fairly brisk pace (as fast as you can in a mob of people) but not fast enough for this much older woman in a wheelchair who was being pushed by her daughter or granddaughter (I assume). It is pretty packed and she runs into the back of my 11 year old daughter and then the old woman starts YELLING at my daughter to get out of her way! I don't know where she thought she was going in such a hurry, since it was PACKED but it scared the crap out of my daughter who cried out in pain and jumped in front of me to get away from her. I didn't realize this even happened until they zoomed past us weaving in and out of the people. My daughter half joked about making sure mean old ladies in wheelchairs weren't behind her the rest of our trip. I gave her a hug and we talked about how rude she was and such and walked on (the old lady gave her a huge bruise). I shake my head at people sometimes. Luckily this was our only issue this past trip.

The same thing happens to me when I drive. Someone fills that space every time. I think it's a losing battle.

Well we just got back form a trip the first week of Nov. and the most annoying thing was the way Disney treats crowds.
They treat individual customers great but they are disrespectful and inconsiderate to the masses.
Cases in point:
The morning security lines - this is my biggest pet peeve... They yell at customers to get in the longer lines and pass by the shorter ones (didn't do it) and if they simply employed 3 or 4 more people to screen the things would move much faster.
Many people in line said they need a no-bag line and I agree even though my family couldn't use it.

The fireworks used to be visible from a wider area but now people really need to be in a tighter area of Main Street to get the full effect.

Long lines aren't handled well. The HM's extended queue blocks movement around the area of the NOS train station and people end up walking all around trying to circumnavigate it.
Also queues are allowed to get out of control long before they are reconfigured.

Ever been in the park when it rains? We were there during an very light rain (no wind) and CM's ran around folding up all the umbrella's at the Jolly Holiday Bakery and then putting huge zip-ties on them so no one could escape the drizzle under them. Must have sold a few ponchos that way.

I will commend Disney for utilizing the full capacity of rides during moderate times though. Example; They used to use just one side of BTMRR unless it was very busy. Now they seem to open the other side up at much much lower crowd levels. I noticed this at several attractions.

I can't say I disagree on all counts, but on the Jolly Holiday bakery...... I really doubt they are trying to sell more ponchos. I'm guessing they don't want guests to huddle under big lightning rods in a storm.

Wasn't a storm and there was nothing like that predicted on the weather report. Just a very light and short sprinkle. Also putting them down wouldn't have much effect even if there was lightening since they're still sticking up in the air and there were people all around them coming and going from the JHB.
From a customers standpoint, it was a just lousy thing to do.

I have heard about them folding the umbrellas up a couple weeks ago. I really don't know why but I bet it was because they didn't want them messed up, maybe the lightning rod thing too who really knows. I just don't think it was malice.

The most annoying things I encounter at DL/DCA revolve around the same central theme. The parents who have forgotten what it was like to be a kid and believe that because they have shelled out a lot of money that magically they will have the most incredible family vacation without any effort on their own part and under the delusion that their children will behave like the upper class in Downton Abbey while being shoveled full of lollipops, juice, doughnuts, ice cream and fried chicken.

When waiting in line and the person behind me is so close he/she is practically breathing on my neck. And this goes for everywhere else too not just at Disney.

I don't know that it was malice as much as a ill considered policy but the simple fact that people were trying to seek shelter under them and CM's were folding them up was, regardless of reason, a very unkind thing to do.
Again, the idea of them being a lightning rod is in no way reduced by folding them up. The minimal distance people would still be from them would not provide any safety margin. Perhaps even more importantly, THERE WAS NO PREDICTION OR OCCURRENCE OF LIGHTNING THAT EVENING.
Also, many people just went on sitting at their table, in the light rain. What else could they do - they had food all spread out and were in the middle of meals.

FWIW, I got a call from Disney from a gentleman named Dick who said he had worked at attractions all over the park that had similar types of umbrella's and had never heard or seen such a thing. He went on to say he would escalate the matter to a management team for further investigation.

I actually disagree with this. I actually think the new show allows people to spread out more. We watched the fireworks from MS by the Christmas tree, in the hub, MS by the photo store, and at small world. We tried to watch them in frontier land too, but they were canceled that night. There were a lot of people in *all* of the viewing areas. I don't think you'd see the number of people at small world or frontier land if they hadn't designed the show to be viewed from different areas of the park. Each area had its pros and cons.
