On the meet board for our cruise, someone is organizing a mixology "class?" Has anyone done this on the Fantasy? What does it entail? It's $20pp. Would you recommend?
Thanks! :drinking:

We did this on our last Fantasy cruise with people from a meet. It was kind of fun. We ended up meeting a couple people that we begin onboard friends with. If I remember correctly, you and your fellow students take turns making 5 different cocktails for everyone present. I thought it was a nice diversion for that afternoon.

We did the mixology class on the Fantasy. It's a lot of fun.

Basically, there were glasses for 5 different drinks lined up on the bar when we went in:

Then the group was divided into 5 smaller groups of 5 people. Each small group went up and the bartender talked them through making a drink. They each made enough for 5 people.

Then everyone in the large group got to drink it. Then the second group went up and made a different drink (each person for 5 people, again). Then we "tasted" that. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat.

It was a lot of fun.

We had a private Mixology class on our Fantasy cruise and I loved it. Really fun. Great deal since you are getting 5 drinks for $20. And I picked up some drink recipes that I love mixing at home.

During both of our mixologys the drink set ups, were at tables located around the bar. But that's on the Magic. So at our seats he would then explain the balance of sweet-and-sour and the attraction of color and a drink, and much more. It's a nice way to learn how to create a few drinks on your own without looking at a book and feeling comfortable about it.

I LOVE mixology of any sort. Definitely worth going if you like to try different drinks and learn about cocktails!

Five mixed drinks in the span of a few hours. I have to guess the pours were smallish, or else you'd have a group of people staggering out of the bar when it was all over?

It is five drinks over an hour. The pours are not too heavy because the mixing tumbler is small. On the Dream a year ago we all mixed our own. I also did the Tequila/Margarita class. That class ended up being private because no one else signed up. It was nice having an attractive bartender pouring you shots/mixing drinks telling you about the distilling process and other info. I even shared some of my own drink recipes.

Yep as said they aren't really full drinks maybe about 3/4 of the size of a drink at most but its a lot of alcohol in an hour - and mixing! I've done both the make your own and the let others make it type ones on the ships and love them all.

We did it and it ended up being us and the other couple we were traveling with....so an unintentional private mixology! I thoroughly enjoyed the class. I thought it was a really good deal at $20/pp. However, I don't know if I would have enjoyed it as much if there were more people. We also had it on pirate night...let's just say we were really happy in our pictures. :D

As others have said, it's 5 drinks in an hour. Ours were smaller than full sized but most were VERY strong as we were the ones mixing them and most people were very generous in their pours. We had some people who had signed up for the private Mixology class not show up. Since the bartender had already set out glasses for a full class, he had us go ahead and make all the extra drinks. The extras were set to the side and anyone could take them. So there were many of us stumbling out of the class. My first cruise I scheduled a wine tasting and Mixology back to back. I don't remember much about that afternoon.

Apparently we had an unusual set up. The glasses were all regular sized glasses (for the drinks prepared) and the amount of the alcohol pour was what it was supposed to be in each mix.

Yes, some people were having a lot of fun, and I'm sure the party continued after we left. I don't drink, so I only had a tasting sip on each drink, and that was plenty for me.

Our cruise group on social media is also setting up a "happy hour" with Disney. Paid in advance open bar for 1 hour. Looking forward to that!

are their any drink packages on the cruise for adult drinks.

They also sold drink cards when we were on the Fantasy in 2015 where you got a discount for buying so many drinks and they just punched your card when you used them. I think they were only good in Skyline though.
