I have the asmu booked for 8/25-9/3 this is the start of value season. I am hoping to switch to a moderate if the price is right. I am still thinking that the prices will go down. I am paying 69 including taxes for the music(pretty good, but I want better).
My question is what price have you gotten or seen during this time?
Do you think I will get a moderate for just a little more than what I am paying now? If so how much and is it worth it to step up? WHY?
I have always stayed off property at a timeshare hotel, which are beautiful but now its time to stay on property. Thanks everyone!!!

I don't think you are going to see better than $69. AP rates and the codes are out for your timeframe already. Business is picking up at Disney so you most likely will not see anything cheaper. Don't go by last year's low rates - Disney was feeling the economy and dropped prices to attract visitors. They don't seem to need to do that this year.

If you really want a moderate, I think the codes have been giving $84 rates.

With the DC discont, the AS resorts are $62 (not including tax) during the Value season

This is what I see too?

By all means, if you are willing to pay an additional 15-20 per night to pamper yourself book a moderate resort over the All Stars. Once you stay at a moderate, you'll never go down to a value resort!
Advantages and perks are as follows...
Bus Stop-Generally they are closer to your room, under shelter, come more frequently, and odds are you won't stand on them (unless right after nighttime show when everyone pours out)
They usually have a cast member there with a cell phone & palm pilot monitoring the stop calling back to the bus garage if additional buses are needed in the morning. At All Stars you wait & wait & hope you make it into the bus when it does come.
Lobby-More decorative, festive, cast members more helpful & plentiful, themed
Grounds-Beautiful. I've been to Port Orleans French & Coronado.
Both make you feel you're at some fancy resort somewhere.
Rooms-are about the same
Food-about the same
Pin Trading-If you're in to pin trading (as my kids are) the higher up you go in rooms (value, moderate, deluxe) the better pins the cast members have on their lanyard! When we stayed at AKL last December I was amazed at how many GREAT pins my kids picked up on the Cast members lanyard at the gift shop.
Hope this helps.
