Not that I need another credit card...but if I can earn $$ for Disney while I spend (lots of) money on Disney, it may be worth it! If I pay off my trip using the DRV, will I earn $$ to spend while I am at Disney? What about the $40? Do they really take that off your trip? How much of a hassle is it to redeem your reward? what is the percentage?

Thanks!

We have one that we use throughout the year. You get $1 for every hundred you spend (1%). We will use it for everyday expenditures and pay it off at the end of every month to accumulate the Disney reward dollars. Over the two years in between our trips, that really adds up, especially once you charge the tickets or hotel, if you choose to put it on there.

i basicly do the same, use my disney visa card for EVERYTHING in order to build up reward points then each year use those points towards my annual pass.

The interest rate is not that good so i also pay off the balance each month.

When you wish to use your awards, Visa will issue you an 'awards card' and you use it just like you would a charge card. my understanding is you can use it for anything disney operated ; room, food, merchandise, passes, etc...

No interest for the first 6 months, after that a rather high 14.9%. Too steep for my taste. I got it to get the $40 off my tickets (got a AAA room only rate for the room, no package). I'll use it around WDW when I go in December. I plan on cancelling it afterwards, though. I'm very bad at paying them off every month, and don't trust myself to keep it.

Got one to get 20% off the two tours we wanted to do. Got the 20% off AND $40 credit...........great deal!

It's good if...

...(like any credit card) you pay it off each month
...you want to accumulate Disney Rewards Dollars (1 for each 100 charged)
...you want '6 months same as cash' on Disney vacations
...you want '6 months same as cash' on DVC down payment

We use our card every day - and pay it off each month. We then use those Disney Reward Dollars for all our purchases (food, souvenirs, etc.) when we visit WDW. We've had it for a few years now with no issues. Also, if you have a 'Rewards card' - ordered via the Disney Rewards program - you can instantly transfer Disney Rewards Dollars to that card via a phone call. We did it twice on our last vacation.

There are better 'points' offers on other credit cards with better rates - but we are Disney fans and like gaining those rewards.

I have the card but don't use it very much. 1% is fine for cashback but not for rewards that can only be used on their stuff. I normally use my Citbank Thankyou card for points. I charge everything all month and pay it off each month. I now have enough points for over $1000 in giftcards to various places. It gives 1 point per dollar but 5 points per dollar at grocery stores, gas stations, and drug stores.
I do use my disney card when I think i'm going to buy something that will take me a month or two to pay off. I usually end up with about $100/year in disney rewards which is perfect for a good dinner for 2.

If you want to add the points while you're at WDW, or haven't ordered your rewards card for a quick trip, you can get the rewards card at Downtown Disney Guest Relations (circle tower building between West Side and PI). We did that and it was great!

FYI, not sure if its reguarding all tours, or only the keys to the kingdom tour (that is the one I inquired about)...was told as of Sept.30 they will no longer be offering the Disney Visa discount on the tour.

so if anyone is going that last week & want to do the tour you may want to do it on the 30th or before.

Don't forget if you sign up for the Disney Rewards VISA right now they're offering a free $50 Disney card - go to www.disney50offer.com or call 1-888-726-2379 & use code 6J2F11.

Another thing to remember. Once you order the rewards card, that particular card (looks like a credit card with a number on the front, etc) will expire in about two years. Now if you go to WDW - use all those points!! You can reload the card, but if you are not going to WDW within another year or two, those dollars on that card will expire along with the card.

Am I making sense? LOL! Basically, what I'm saying is leave all your rewards dollars in your account until you know you will be going to WDW and plan on using them all.

We are leaving in a few weeks with over 400 on our rewards card. I will use it constantly for lunches and dinners until its gone, then go to good ol' greenbacks. We've never had any trouble using it, and after you use it, they give you a slip with the remaining balance.
