What is the longest you have gone b/t trips to Disneyland?

I am taking my family to DL in June. I haven't been since 1989 (when I was in my late teens traveling with friends) so I am excited to see all the things I didn't pay attention to the first time and also see the changes that occured since I was there last (Hello California Adventure ).

It seems like most people who post here go pretty frequently, so I was just curious.... who else has had a long period of time between visits?

My DS is excited to go on the Indiana Jones Ride and he asked if I have ever been on it and I just don't remember b/c it has been so long!!!

I'd love to hear about other people's experiences who let decades pass between trips.

Boy, that's a tough one. I would have to guess close to 30 years between when I went as a child, and when my DW and I took our kids for their first trip in 2006.

1984! The one and only time I have been to DL. The sad thing was, I lived in SoCal for the first 8 years of my life and never went, I had to wait until I went to visit my Grandparents after moving to Oregon!

Yeah, it's about time!

Last visit in 1983, and the next one this September. And I sure as heck won't be leaving it another 25 years before the visit following this one - I hope to make it over every 5 years or so.

Well recently it's been monthly and I start to get the "itch" around the 3rd week of the month.....LOL We got AP's in July of 07, before that we went in April '06, before that I hadn't been for....ummmm.....5 years and before that it was about another 5 years.

The longest wait for us was 1 1/2 years. Around 04-06. We went to WDW in 05and then I went on a ladies only trip to WDW in 06. So...the moolah was a little tight. Now we are giving WDW a break and doing DL for awhile.

Right now the longest we go is a year normally. This time was only 6 months!

But in a life time I'd say 3 years was the longest. I went when I was 12 and didn't go back until 15.

Since being an adult the longest was 3 years......and we live 20 minutes away! In those three years I had my 4th and 5th children so I was busy to say the least. Now we have AP's....and I hope we'll be able to get them every year. I fully plan on using them to the fullest!

You'll notice in my sig that it only starts in late 2005. I went as a child between 2 and 4 times, I don't remember which one it was (at least once with each parent, I know that), but after that it was 2005!

And I didn't even enter (or think of entering) DCA until Sept 2007!

Obviously I'm making up for lost time now....

I went to DL at ages 4, 11, 16, 19, and 21....didn't go again until I was 32, so that was my longest going without DL. Then I went when I was 36 and I'm 39 for this trip.

I grew up in San Diego so you would think we went all the time right? WRONG-O! We went maybe once a year. When I moved to Los Angeles I would go maybe twice a year because I hadn't found a crazy mouseketteer loving fool like myself until about 7 years ago when I met my Dfi. Since we got annual passes, we go about 4 times a month, no joke! Except for the summer, its too hot and we do a lot of surfing in the summer. So now the longest we miss Dl between trips is about 6-8 weeks. I feel very very lucky to live so close to Anaheim and can go on the fly.
It is NOT lost on me how fortunate I am. And yet you would think I would have reined in my spending by now, no? .... uh NO.

I didn't go a lot as a child. My first trip was when I was 8 in 1976. Then I went again a few times. I know I went when I was around 12 with my cousin and then as a teen. My parents didn't have a lot of cash so we didn't get to go a lot. Then as an adult I'd say I went every 3 to 5 years. It wasn't until I had kids of my own that I started going more regularly. And then in 06 we got an annual pass and in 06 and 07 we went the most times (4 times each in both of those years. Now will be the longest amount of time we have gone in the last few years. It will be over a year before we go back (and not by choice but that is just how it worked out). We went in February of this year and we are letting our AP's expire because we are going to DW for our once every 3 year trip back there. And unfortunately with the way prices are going this will most likely be our last trip back THERE for awhile. And then our next trip to DL will be in April 09. So it will be a little over a year before we return to DL.

But we will get new AP's at that time and will most likely return either that summer or fall and then again in Feb of 10.

So anyway now that I have TOTALLY gotten off the subject LOL. I'd say the longest in my lifetime would be about 5 years or so and the longest lately will be about 14 months which will be this year.

I had gone around 10 years in between honeymoon and taking DK's. Now I try to go every year or so. I was shocked at the changes in Anaheim. Everything seemed totally different. And then there is the Disneyland Resort. California Adventure is a fun park just don't judge it against Disneyland. Judge it as it's own park. The first time we went I expected another Disneyland and I was disappointed. The next time I judged it as it's self and I enjoyed it a lot more. Most of all just enjoy yourself, relax and have fun.

The longest for me has been 2 years. Growing up my parents took us at least once a year, but there was one year we didn't go. Nowadays I try to go at least twice a year.

It's always fun to go back to a place you haven't been to in a long time, especially if it's Disneyland

My parents are going with us on our November trip. For them it will be 45 years!! They were there while on their honeymoon! I think that I am as excited about them coming as I am about going to DL

That sounds wonderful! Have fun. We usually bring my Mom with us on all vacations. Only this time is just for DH and I.
