What is the leisure rate for groups of 8 or more?

Does anyone know how the special group rate works? I know that you can get discounts off your room and tickets if your party contains 8 or more people. You get what is called a leisure rate. Does anyone know approximately what the rate or discount is for deluxe rooms? Can it be combined with AAA? Does anyone know what the leisure rates are for disney tickets? Also, do all members of the group have to stay in the same resort or can each member of the group stay in different resorts within disney to qualify for leisure rates? Can anyone who has experience with group rates explain this to me please? I'd really appreciate it! Thank you

You can't get a group rate on rooms unless you have at least 10 rooms...

I don't believe you are correct although I could be wrong. Read below. This is directly from mousecents.com

"Family Group Discount: If you are traveling with 8 or more people, Disney offers a flat discount on passes and resort rooms. You need to call Disney and ask for the leisure rate when you purchase your passes or to book a WDW Resort. They also have other special events for families traveling in large groups - this is called Disney's Magical Gatherings."

Can anyone with experience with traveling with 8 or more people offer me insight on the leisure rate for rooms/tickets? I'm not talking about the "disney's magical gathering" where you book at least 10 rooms. Thank you.

We looked in to it for a group of friends from college looking to travel together. It was a minimum of 8 ROOMS, not 8 people. There were restrictions on it that made it not worth it for us so we went another way.

you were right! mousecents misinformed me. i called disney. you need to book 10 or more rooms or purchase 30 or more tickets for discounted leisure rates. if you have more than 8 in your party, you do not receive discounts; however, they just guarantee that your rooms will be together. thanks again
