What is the highest milage you know of on a good running vehicle?

WE had over 250,000 on one of our full sized vans. Our current full size van has about 150,000.

on a Toyota years ago. The car ran great - but the door fell off:eek:

We had a Honda Accord that had 230,000 miles on it when I gave it to my niece. She is still driving it, and now I think it has close to 300,000 miles on it. The car has never had a major repair.

Our 1995 Hyundai Accent has 167.000 miles on it right now and still going strong, however dh does not drive it to work because he needs a more realiable car for long commutes so we keep it for a spare car.

My dh has a 1990 Ford f150 that has 170,000 on it right now. Very dependable and never had any major repairs.

We had a 1978 Toyota Civic that had 200 some on it.. and we had it from 1990-1993.

My DH has an Oldsmobile Achieva now that has 179K or something like that on it.

I had an 84 Honda Accord that had 260,000 on it before I sold it and it was running fine! :) I have a 92 Honda Accord now that has 170,000 and it has no problems either. :)

My dd has a 91" Grand Am with 160,000 and it's still going strong

I have had several volvos with over 250,000 on them. My jeep cherokee had 199,000 on it when my dd wrecked it a couple of months ago. Our Chrysler Town and Country had 245,000 miles on it when the tranny went last month. The day before the junk yard came to get it dh started it and it started right up.
My dd just bought a 1999 Chevy Cavalier with 130,000 miles on it. It was a fleet vehicle and has immaculate maintenance records. The car runs fantastic. Better then my low mileage Jeep Wrangler. My mechanic swears that most cars will keep on running as long as you maintain them well especially changing the oil.

250,000 on my little 1980 toyota celica supra. unfortunately, driving in syracuse, the fram rusted through and they couldn't find a new one to replace it with. :( i loved that car.

I had a Chevy Spectrum (1st model year, build as a throw-away car) with 176,000 miles when someone bought if for their teenage son. That was 6 years ago and I still see it around town so I can only imagine how many miles are on it now.

The Taurus I turned in last year had just under 170,000 miles when I gave it to a non-profit group. I got a note at Christmas time from the woman who ended up with it and she said it ran great and she was thrilled with it.

The 93 GMC full size pickup proudly sitting in my garage has 243K on it. It's been paid off for years, and the 4WD is still great in the snow. Gotta love it!

My '92 Taurus has about 178,000 miles on it now. It certainly doesn't run like new but gets me to/from work and that's what counts. I've been told I'm really lucky that it has gotten this far.

My previous car, a '79 LeSabre, had 145,000 miles on it before I sold it to a relative. They drove it a couple more years after that.

I have a 94 Nissan Altima with 155,000 which I drive everyday and has only had minor problems. I hope it survives at least another two years!

We had a Dodge Caravan that had 225,000 miles until the transmission went out. We have Toyota Corolla with 220,000 miles and is still running with no major repairs. We have another Toyota Corolla with 116,000 miles.

I had a Ford Pinto that lasted 80,000 - a miracle for a Pinto;)

Thanks everyone!! We just bought a 1997 Ford Explorer yesterday! I love it! It is loaded, leather seats, power everything, sunroof etc and the only thing that scared me was the 84,000 miles. DH talked to the person who owned it and he said that his wife had traded it in on a Honda and he wishes they still had it. He has kept excellent care of it....we have all of the records of oil changes etc. I need it to last at least 2 to 3 years. DH never had any problem with the mileage...he said the condition and how it had been maintained was what was important. I have always wanted an Explorer and am so proud of it!

Thanks again everyone!!
