What is the Grand Floridian Cafe like?

We are trying to figure out NYE dinner and we're leaning towards Ohana (if we can get it) but the menu at GF Cafe sounds really good--what is it like? What is the room like? Do you feel like you're just in a generic hotel restaurant or does it feel nice? Thanks!

Grand Floridian Cafe is really nice. Has the nice Victorian feel to it. The service is really really good and we never felt rushed.
I would definitely pick Grand Floridian Cafe over Ohana any day. Our experience at Ohana was terrible.

if you're looking for a more adult experience, I'd go for Grand Floridian Cafe...kids are welcome, but it's not all about family entertainment in there like it is at 'Ohana. Grand Floridian Cafe seems to be very underrated - doesn't get a lot of buzz, but I've alway had good meals there. The room itself is very nice and bright - definitely not a generic hotel restaurant.

Grand Floridian Cafe is a totally different experience than Ohana so it is hard to compare. I'd think your chances of getting a NYE ADR are far better at Grand Floridian Cafe than Ohana though.

To reiterate what others have said the GFC is very good and under rated so with that being the case your chances of getting an ADR there on NYE is pretty good! I much prefer Ohana's for breakfast. As far as the atmosphere it is Victorian and very nice. It's not too stuffy but not too casual. It is just right in my opinion! Their new york strip is VERY GOOD and I highly recommend the chocolate fondue for dessert!!!

We will be eating here our last night, before heading to MK for EMH. I'm glad to hear that the food is good. the menu looks really good more of a choice for everyone.

It's a very pretty place with paned windows overlooking the lovely gardens and the inner courtyards of the GF. Definitely a great "sleeper" restaurant since many people don't even seem to know that it exists.


We really like 'Ohana, but I will add that on most nights (always depends on the guests, though), the GFC is a quieter place to dine than 'Ohana.

We just had lunch at the GFC for the first time a few weeks ago and loved it. Very nice place, great service, good food. We'll definitely be back.

I agree, just ate there on 9/18 and loved it. We will do it again. It was nice and quiet and a great way to end a good vacation.

When I made my breakfast ADR for the GFC, the CM said "are you sure you don't mean 1900 Park Fare?" I guess they don' get a lot of requests for GFC. We're looking forward to trying it!

A hiddem gem in Disney. It's a nice casual cafe in an elegant setting, lots of variety as well..that's why this place is awesome!
