I'm noticing during the "show" times there are other activities we may like to attend, so choices must be made because you obviously cant "do it all".

Can anyone fill me in on the Shows: best/worst/dont miss/etc.

Hercules
Golden Mickeys
and Dream ....

thank you

Hercules- I hated this show..it was so boring I fell asleep!!
Golden Mickeys - I thought this was very good.
and Dream .... Dreams I always liked...I caught the afternoon and the evening show last cruise!

The Golden Mickeys is like a satire on the Oscars....it honors Disney films like Snow White, Pocahontas, Lion King, Sleeping Beauty, Beauty & the Beast, Mulan, etc...

Kids will be interviewed outside and shown inside "live" with Rhona from the red carpet. This is where they also pick six kids to be Snow White's dwarf. My DD6 was chosen.

This is a "Sea Day" show....there will be three showings with a matinee at 2:30pm.

I liked Hercules, Golden Mickeys & Farewell Show. I couldn't care for Disney Dreams. I guess everyone has their own opinions about each show....it's just what you personally like or don't like.

I have heard people talk about a ventriloquist in one of the shows, which show is that? And also, which show is the last night show that all the kids can be in?

The ventriloquist was AWESOME. He is in the "Welcome Aboard Show", the very first night. His name is Michael Harrison.

The show where the kids are on isn't really a show. It's just graduation ceremony. Graduation is at 5:30 on the last day before disembarkation.

There is a real show that same night and it's the Farewell Variety Show.

I would have a hard time deciding which I liked better--Golden Mickeys or Dreams. They are both so good! We skipped Hercules and don't feel like we missed anything. But then, that's the one movie we've never seen, so maybe that's why we didn't miss it.

Hercules ---- my favorite of the three, I thought it was really funny
Golden Mickey's--also liked quite well
Dreams--was okay, but I probably will skip it next time
We were on a 4 day so we didn't have all of the other shows, so I can't help you there.

I was on the Magic in 12/03 when the Golden Mickeys debuted. I loved it! I would probably skip Dreams, although all the shows are good.

Golden Mickeys was my least favorite of the three we saw on our 4 night in October 2003. If/When we sail again on DCL, I'll be skipping this one.

I enjoyed the Hercules and Disney Dreams show much more.

we thought golden mickeys was so much fun! hercules was also enjoyable, although some of the bad attempts at humor were very cringeworthy. i thought dreams was pretty hokey, i don't remember much about it at all except my dislike for it, i wouldn't sit through it again.

Well, I also really enjoyed Hercules. Hades improvs and his lines have changed since last year when we cruised. This show will be gone after May so it may be your only chance to see it unless you will be cruising again before then. Dreams is great along with The Golden Mickeys. The one show we skip is WWTBAM and depending on the movie on Pirate night we may skip that.

I didn't know that Hercules will be gone after May! Do you know what it is being replaced with? We're cruising in July and I want to know what we have to look forward to. I was going to be sure to watch Hercules (the movie) with the kids before the cruise, but I won't bother if it won't be a show on the cruise! :earboy2:

We just got off the Magic and I know Hercules was a favorite for us and, from the applause, the audience's too. Quite simply, the actor playing Hades and the actresses playing his two side kicks were hilarious. Not often that the villian gets the louder applause, but they did make the show. Based on other comments above, I could see where it might have been less entertaining if the actors/actresses didn't enhance their roles.

The Disney Dreams and Golden Mickeys were typical Disney shows (if you like the shows at the parks, you'll like these). In both cases, the shows revisit the Disney classics of Tarzan, Beauty and the Beast, Cinderella, Finding Nemo, etc., usually featuring a great choreographed musical number from each. I certainly feel they were worth seeing, and they provided 3 shows a day to do so (2pm Matinee, 6:30 and 8:30).

The Variety shows can vary. We had two comedians, a juggler and a magician. They were all very entertaining, especially the juggler when he demonstrated how he can do 3 paddleballs at the same time.

Hades & Pain & Panic definitely stole the show! :) I am glad that we got their autographs on the last cruise. The Captain just said that it would be replaced at the CC meeting and someone on a recent cruise went on the behind the scene thing at the theater & the crew said they would be the last group to perform that show.

so are the shows with the ventriliquist, magician, etc., in addition to the disney dreams, golden mickeys and hercules. What time are they shown? We are on the 3 day Wonder.

The welcome & farewell shows have the additional acts inbetween the dance numbers on the Magic. I wouldn't think that they have the time for them on the 3 or 4 day but they may have similar performers in the clubs at night after the 2nd show.
