The funniest I ever heard was on these boards last fall during all the hurricanes, a guy posted that someone told him there was no damage to Cinderella castle because they are able to lower it underground during a hurricane!

I love this rumore (its true) about George.. I cannot wait to hear from him on POTC.. he died during construction and if you say " I dont believe in george" or CM dont say goodmorning, and goodnight to him the ride will break down

My friend and I just went to Disney. We decided that we would yell out "Hello George!!!" in the middle of the ride. Nothing happened except we got alot of people staring at us.

i was reading them things just a a while ago and saw one on the films one which was true:
photographic mimages of topless woman seen in the rescuers it is true i cannot belive it

About the naked woman in the original version of the Rescuers,Yes it is true , do a search for "urban legends" and "disney" they discuss this and other things like Walt burried under the MK (which is NOT true!! ) I think its snopes.com/disney but I'm not sure.

Not really a rumor but if you look close during thr ToT preshow the lighting effects with the windows syngronizes with the lighting in the video. You gotta look fast to catch it. It's pretty cool and by what I know not well know.

Also Madam Leaotta is the HM was modeled and named after an Imagineer who worked on the HM. It's true! It said so in my "Disney Imagineering" book. Fasinating!

Yeh, the monorail/high speed train thing from the airport was considered for a while. Disney was trying to get the local and state governments to foot the bill, and that never got close to happening. True, the other parks would have suffered, but more so the local "off property" economy.

There were (are?) plans for one ultra exclusive suite inside the Castle. It would have been used as the "Honey Moon Suite" for high priced Disney wedding extravaganzas. And for anyone who had more money that M.E.

The train almost happened. It was going to be a huge project by the state of florida. It wasnt exactly going to be a monorail but a high speed train. Right now supposedly its back on backburner for now.

A monorail was going to be built from WDW to Disneyland!

All major cities in between. Vegas. Disneyland. Disney World.

Thanks to Nevada this is not completely out of question. It's already proposed from Las Vegas to LA.


Don't forget that they have high speed trains all over Europe. Why not in the US?

The "roughly $1,000,000 per mile" number is an untrue Internet rumor itself! If Disney could expand the monorail for so little money per mile, they would already have done so.

Actually, no, it's not untrue...just dated. The original cost of the monorail was right around $1M per mile, but that was in 1970 dollars, don't forget. The cost now would obviously be MUCH higher.
