What is the food you won't eat?

meat pies are almost a staple food here. meat pies covered in tomato sauce. and if you really want a bogan meal, add a beer.
i only eat meat pies from bakeries. or home made ones. but no beer for me :P

In America, interestingly enough, a mincemeat pie contains no meat.

I think, historically, it did, but in present-day it is a spicey mixture of raisins, currents, and fruits (mostly apples, I think).

i would be very interested to taste traditional mincemeat sometime, but have never seen it made/sold that way. :confused3

I don't eat things that swim. (I spent my entire childhood near the ocean, and the mere thought of eating seafood makes me nauseous - my parents are still wondering where they went wrong. :lmao: )

I also don't eat:
organs, blood, tongue, etc...
peas
dark meat poultry
meats that resemble what they looked like when they were alive (i.e. cornish hens - they just creep me out. When we get rotisserie chickens, DH has to carve them before I'll touch them.)
Lima beans

I'm sure there's probably a couple of other things, but this is all that's coming to mind right now. :)

ETA: Already thought of a few more. :teeth:

Mushrooms
Olives
Beets
Bologna
Hot Dogs (I manage to choke down one or two per year, but that's pretty much it)

Yeah...sad, isn't it? :rotfl: You can't toss a rock without hitting a seafood joint. :scared1:

My DH and his family all really enjoy seafood, too - so anytime we're out at a seafood place, the orders sound something like this: "Shrimp, Tilapia, Shrimp, Scallops, Chicken"

No venison, buffalo, ostrich, frogs, reptiles or amphibians.

Top Chef, two seasons ago, had the chefs make something with alligator. It was oozing out of the skin! :scared1:

Gator is good! We used to get gator bites (think chicken nuggets) all the time until the restaurant that served them closed. I've been trying to find a new place to get them.

:lmao: my order at a seafood restaurant is the same way! everyone else gets shrimp, or catfish, or lobster tails, etc...i get chicken, and DH gets a hamburger steak, LOL.

Alligator is chicken, but more expensive :lmao: So I don't waste my time with it any more.

I won't eat dried fruits. I don't know what it is, but I just cannot stand them! Especially raisins.

Rye bread
Olives
Liver
Haggis (never been offered any, but just the thought - :crazy2:

Does anyone remember that lunch meat they used to sell that looked similar to bologna but had chunky red and green stuff in it? I don't know if they sell it anymore but gross!

Meatloaf. I think it's totally disgusting. My Mom would make it once in a while when I was growing up and it was gross. My sister makes it and says hers is so much better than Mom's but I couldn't bring myself to eat it when we visited her. Puke-o-rama.

Sushi or snails. Tried them both once. Ewwwwwwww.
