Trying to plan and find the best price on park tickets, Disnetstore gave me the price "plus Florida sales tax" but she did not know what that was! Any help???

The Florida state sales tax is 6%, but be aware that counties are allowed to tack on addition county sales taxes. Orange county is now at 6.5% and Osceola county is 7%...so on site you might pay different prices due to sales tax. Not sure if the Disney Store just does the straight 6% or if they use 6.5% based on the fact that WDW is in Orange county.

Thanks for the fast reply...I'll post what happens at the store!!!

Disney is in Orange County, they charge 6.5% on passes, regardless of where you buy them.

Gail, I may be mistaken, but I thought that the All-Stars and AKL are in Osceola County, are they not?

I don't know if the resorts charge local sales tax on passes, but if they do, then it would stand to reason that those resorts would charge the correspondingly higher Osceola rate.

As to me, I always buy my hoppers in advance, at either TDS or AAA. Sometimes if there has been a recent price increase, AAA will have the better price, but usually they are both the same, 5% off gate. (I've been told that since AAA is a reseller, they will sell remaining stock at the price corresponding to what they paid, so even after a price increase, they will honor the old price on tickets already in stock when the increase went into effect.)

The parks are in Orange County, you pay a sales and use tax, you use it in Orange County, hence the 6.5%. I do understand the confusion. :)
