What is the FIRST thing you do....

Once you get to WDW/your resort?

For me...as soon as we get to WDW...I make DH pull over and I get a pic of the welcome sign. That's a MUST for me!!! (Ironically...I don't take one of the goodbye sign...hmmm)

As for the resort..it's actually two: Turn on the tv so I can hear Stacy and go on the balcony!!! Man...I wish I was there right now!!!

If our room is ready I check out every aspect of the room. The view, the amenitites, where I'm going to unpack. DH tests the TV LOL

If the room isn't ready we usually head to a park to get our Disney fix!

I stare at my KTTW card for a few minutes, because it really makes you feel like you are there.

Then I run out of the resort, get on the bus to go to Epcot and do Innoventions first. My first stop - Spaceship Earth!

OOOOOHHHH!!!! I LLLOOOOVVEE the first one!!! The last one makes me cry..but I have to admit that as soon as we hit that sign/gate, we start planning our next trip!!! LOL!!!

The first thing my dw and i do is head to the magickingdom and have lunch at the columbia harbor house. we always sit upstairs over looking the haunted mansion entrance and the steam boat. we always split a order of fish and chips and a light house sandwich after washing it down with a diet coke(diet coke on tap with florida water just cant be replicated at home) were ready to live like a kid again for the next 7 days

I often see close calls when people pull off to take pics of the welcome sign. It's a very dangerous thing to do.

I Love Spaceship Earth!!! That's a definite first when we get Epcot!!

After checking into the resort, my first thing was and will always be going to the MK, walking down Main Street, past Walt's statue and then straight up to the castle.

I'm not at Disney until I see that HUGE, PROUD, MAGICAL castle - period. Seeing Cinderella Castle is the most magical thing for me. You bet I had had tears in my eyes when I saw it for the very first time on my first trip 2 months ago.

We go to DTD and shop, eat at Earl of Sandwich, go back to the room and watch some resort TV and get into the feel of Disney magic.

After checking into the resort, my first thing was and will always be going to the MK, walking down Main Street, past Walt's statue and then straight up to the castle.

I'm not at Disney until I see that HUGE, PROUD, MAGICAL castle - period. Seeing Cinderella Castle is the most magical thing for me. You bet I had had tears in my eyes when I saw it for the very first time on my first trip 2 months ago.

I must agree that you're not truly "there" until you either see that Magical Sign or at MK and when you go around that corner and start walkin down Main Street and you see....THE CASTLE!!! I'm cryin a lil now just thinkin about it!! I still remember my first trip and for me it was when I seen Wishes for the first time and seen TinkerBell fly across. Then as the fireworks started, I just lost it...like now!! LOL!!! DH told me that he knew that he had the right woman when he looked over and seen me cry. He said that that made him tear up a lil as well!!

First thing I do at the resort is the same as I do in most every motel room: I lay down on the bed and rest for just a moment.

First thing in the parks is Haunted Mansion.

New tradition started May 2009,
OK my family would probably kill me if they knew I was telling everyone this:
But the first thing we do after checking into our room is chowing down on our cake. Thats right! We order a cake especially from the bakery regardless if we are celebrating anything or not and we just grab a fork and dive in. We feel like little kids doing this. No pieces cut for us. We can have as much as that wonderful icing as we want. Now thats true bonding!

Favorite cake: white with vanilla buttercream icing and peanut butter inside the layers

Right there with you, I get a little misty when I see this sign. After arriving we usually go to MK to start our WDW vaca. After entering the gate we go to the left tunnel and stop at the line right in front of the tunnel and hold hands and make a statement about leaving all our worries behind and then jump across into our escape from the real world!!
