What is the Fantasmic package?

Please forgive my stupid question, but I've only been to WDW once and it was a very short trip without a lot of extras!

What exactly is the Fantasmic Package? I'm assuming it is part of a fireworks show at one of the parks.

Which park?

Can you hear the sound effects from the restaurant?

Are you viewing from inside or outside?

Do all of the parks have similar packages?

What else do I need to know?

We're going in Jan '07 on the DDP, so I'm really interested in booking something like this, but need more info!

Fantasmic is a great show at Disney Studios. It's shown once (or twice) at night after dark, usually around closing time.

Fantasmic Package is if you are willing to eat at either Hollywood & Vine, Brown Derby or Mama Melrose, they'll then give you a voucher to enter Fantasmic up to 30 minutes before in a special back entrance. You eat first then attend the show.

Fantasmic (depending on when you go to WDW) can have a long line to get in and then a long wait for the show to start. Doing the Fantasmic Package can shorten that wait.

You cannot see Fantasmic from the restaurants.

Fantasmic is shown outside so it can get canceled due to rain or lightening.

After New Years? If so, I'm not sure if I would worry so much about booking the package. It may rain (although it is January -- not August), seating shouldn't be a problem, and you can be a little more flexible with your overall plan if you don't lock in a time.
