What is the drama with the "Just Engaged" pins?

We received them when we checked in at the Grand Californian. Once we hit the parks, several people came up to us asking where we got them. I thought you could get them at City Hall too. Turns out, no.

They had all the other pins, but not these.
Seems like they are a popular item, so I don't get why they discontinued them.

Any insight?

As far as I know, they haven't discontinued them. I BELIEVE you have to actually ask for them, you can't just pick them up as you do the other pins.

I would think you have to ask for them - can't wait to get our just married ones!

The wonderful woman who checked us in at GC gave us those, We're Celebrating and Just Married. She wanted to make sure we had the whole set! So funny.

We had the choice of old ones or the newer ones. The newer ones are lighter and not as "solid" I guess. A little "tinnier" if you know what I mean. We chose the old ones. Design is the same, just felt sturdier.

New Just Married pins? Are they out now?

When my DF & I were at WDW this past October we went to City Hall for the Just Engaged buttons and they said they don't have them anymore... but then they said they may have a few left "hanging around here somewhere." The CM went in the back room and returned with the buttons, but we were lead to believe that they don't supply them anymore and we just got lucky that they had some left over.

I have a friend who works at the front desk of one of the resorts, and she had this to say about. Almost a year ago, there was word of the "just engaged" buttons being discontinued for some reason. There was a drop in availability after that, but for the past couple of months, they've had plenty of them where she works and no word on whether they actually got discontinued. Just thought this info might be helpful to everyone!

I asked about it months ago. They say they went to the happily ever after pins so that they were politically correct for all couple types... So I guess they changed it because the just married pins depict a man and woman and Disney likes to play fair, at least this is what I was told by several employees.

When we went to cut our cake there were some on our cake table. Made my night

At Disneyland they still use "Just Married". They actually just came out with a new batch. We got the new ones at Paradise Pier and the Grand Californian.... then the lady at the Grand Californian also gave us the old version of the Just Married ones that were a little heavier and had the words "Where Dreams Come True" around the edges. So we have both from there, but I'm glad they're still using them!!
