What is the dorkiest thing about you?

I've got White and Nerdy on my Ipod. That should tell you a lot. :rolleyes1

Or that I'm a single, childless woman of 34 that plays VMK who's target audience is supposed to be 8-13 y/o kids?

Hey, are you saying playing VMK is dorky? :rolleyes1

Yeah, what ISN'T dorky about me would be a shorter list. First of all, I also play VMK (not that there's anything wrong with that).

I have an anime obsession and I also read a few Japanese comic books (translated into English because I can't speak Japanese -- yet). My anime obsession goes so far as to me and my DF dressing up as characters and going to an anime convention, but that was her idea. I never would've done that without her.

Let's see... I enjoy fantasy novels and movies and if being obsessed with the Disboards is dorky then, yeah, I'm dorky in that aspect, too.

I think my only saving grace is that I actually realize that Star Trek is fictional.

Ok just a geek out to inform

there is a difference between a geek and a dork and a nerd.
I am a geek i love Math science history harry potter reading, i never match i lack a social life

geek
A person who has chosen concentration rather than conformity; one who pursues skill (especially technical skill) and imagination, not mainstream social acceptance. Geeks usually have a strong case of neophilia (a love of novelty and new things)

A person with a devotion to something in a way that places him or her outside the mainstream. This could be due to the intensity, depth, or subject of their interest. This definition is very broad, and allows for mathematics geeks, engineering geeks, sci-fi geeks, computer geeks, various science geeks, movie and film geeks, comics geeks, theatre geeks, history geeks, gamer geeks, music geeks, art geeks, SCA geeks, literature geeks etc

Nerd is just generally a social inept smart person who is completely oblivious to society dork is about the same.

Enlightening the Geekly unenlightened

I am a Disney freak, I talk to my pets as if they were people, I watch children's shows by myself, I love to do math, give me any kind of a problem and I'll do NOTHING else till I solve it, I test software for a living and enjoy it, I have solved the Rubik's cube....is there anything about me NOT dorky?

I watched some new show on TV the other night ("Chuck" I think it was called), and the main character had someone break into his home and they were taking his computer. He was in a panic, JUST NOT THE COMPUTER, THE COMPUTER IS MY FRIEND! That is SO me, after seeing that I could not deny how dorky I am.

ETA, after reading the above post, maybe I am really a Geek. :woohoo:

I keep Scientific American, the Smithsonian magazine and neuroscience journals in the bathroom! My kids make me move them when they have parties- claim it is too embarrassing!

I also read the Smithsonian magazine. It's the only one I do read.

My dorky thing is Math . . . I'm in heaven right now because hubby is going back to school and taking all of his math classes.

Right now when I can't sleep, I get up in the middle of the night and break out hubby's Calculus book and go to town.

I know . . . . DORK!

My bf is like that. He likes to solve math problems for FUN!

:scared: Math scares me.

This is an awesome thread! :thumbsup2

I have way too many dorky things about me... DH says the fact that I can explain how Drano works qualifies for a dorky moment. I also religiously watch any new Sci-Fi show (for at least a season). I have actually played LARPs (Vampire and SOLAR), and started playing D&D when I was 8 with my family! *cringe* My first characters were Trixie, Dixie, and Pixie, and they were Lawful Good.

I guess my dorkiest moment is I can't be friends with anyone who -plays- a character that isn't Neutral to Lawful Good. :sad2: That's a little weird.

I also own a t-shirt that says, "No I will not fix your computer." :scared:

Brandie

Another DnD player...there are more of us, you know...

Heh. The dorkiest thing about me is that I got a tag from this thread. lol

Are you trying to get your post count up? :confused3 Because I've noticed similar posts by you in other threads.

Actually, I haven't seen a post from him/her yet that seemed to make any sense... or have anything to do with the thread. Give some people an open forum and the results can be *ahem* interesting.

I'm pretty much a total dork. I'm a passionate trivia game player, still watch cartoons, am obsessed with Doctor Who and hockey, and also the whole Disney addiction.

No, Im trying to subscribe to post topics that interest me. Some of them I have already unsubscribed, but some seem interesting..

Like this one,

My reply would be building and configuring computers, and teaching binary, and hexadecimal code to graduate students for use in data retrevial.

And drinking lots of coffee, and bawls and using Penguin afterword,of course!:tigger: (hence the bouncey bounce!)

According to my children - EVERYTHING :cool1: :cool1: oh- sorry, my 12 year old says I shouldn't dance. He says it's "creepy". So is skipping. I don't do these things regularly but...
