I believe if you book through a TA, there would have to be a hold, since there needs to be time for you to ok the price with the TA and give them your payment method. I could be wrong though, they may need all this info up front, but that is not usually how it works with a TA.

Not necessarily. I left middle-of-the-night messages for my TA about booking the WBPC VGT first thing when she got in (we needed three rooms at that rate and I knew they were going fast). She sent me an email confirming that I was aware of the restrictions and after I replied to that I had a confirmation. She has my credit card on file.
