What is the difference between the YC & BC?

I've stayed at the BC twice, never at the YC. But as best I can determine they are the same except for:

-decor/theming
-Stormalong Bay is more on the BC side of the property
-BC has Cape May and the Character Breakfast
-YC guests tend to be a bit older, less children
-BC is a bit closer to EPCOT

I think if you have younger children you would probably prefer BC ovrer YC. Other than that it is a toss-up.

Oh thank you so much! I guess I made the right decision because I just booked the BC & I do have younger children including a 1 year old. I was wondering which resort was closer to Epcot, so I am so happy to hear that BC is. It will be great having the restaurants so close & Stormalong Bay too. Thanks so much for your help - I appreciate it so much! Kim

YC is closer to the boat launches for MGM, Epcot and boardwalk and YC also has balconies for all of their rooms . Beach club only has them on some.

Thank you! More for me to think about then. I appreciate your post! Kim

We booked the BC for the same reasons you did. When we were actually there, the YC seemed soooo much nicer!!!!! It was maybe a 30 second more walk to the YC, the whole atmosphere of the resort was more serene, more beautiful (IMO). BC was more "chaotic" and didn't feel as "upscale" for the same $$$$. I probably would not return to the Bc, but I definitely want to stay at the YC. The resorts are really connected, so going to Cape May is no problem-it's right there. For really young children, the YC side of stormalong bay would be a lot better. That is where the "shallow" beach area is where all the moms and little ones hang out. Tons of sand toys. I also noticed people on that side were having drink orders taken from their chairs. The Yc is also closer to the launch. It's so nice to take it over the BW for an evening stroll. Don't forget that the Crew's cup lounge (at the YC) and the YC Galley are both serving lunch now. The Ale and Compass (in the lobby) serves coffee and continental breakfast and now that I am thinking about all of this.....why am I still going to the Poly in 3 weeks?????

Oh my goodness, YC sounds soooo wonderful too! My DH just read your post and now he wants me to call and switch to YC. Decisions, decisions! Thanks for your input. I really appreciate it. Kim

Actually, my DH absolutely FELL IN LOVE with the YC and we have stayed at 9 different disney resorts. The nautical theming is very masculine, but I loved it as well. the lobby was sooooo relaxed and quiet. At the BC, the lobby was always bustling and there was never any room to sit down-people were waiting to get into Cape May. also, cape May is an open restaurant and it does get very loud......the breakfast there is NOT to be missed!!!!!! We did it the morning of our "pool day". It was a perfect day. Then we strolled over to Epcot that night for dinner.
