What is the deal with Ebay voucher costs?

I was looking at Q&C Vouchers on Ebay. The prices are astronomical. Even if you forget to cancel your HSC subscription for a couple of months, it still will be WAY under what they are going for.

The return on these is better than the stock market. Maybe I'm in the wrong business. I should be selling vouchers on Ebay.

Most people haven't yet figured out yet where they can get the Q+C vouchers for only $11.25; which is somewhat suprising, since the info that tells you where you can buy them is also for sale on ebay. I guess others would rather pay inflated prices, rather than sign-up with a company and cancel the membership or pay annual membership dues. Furthermore, the companies that sell these vouchers have become aware of the mass re-selling and are placing purchasing limits on the number of vouchers that be bought per membership year. Technically the vouchers are non-transferrable, though ebay rarely cancels auctions of this type. I guess the true value of something is what the market is willing to pay...

Is it possible that the prices on Ebay will go down when more and more people learn that the prices are so out of line?

They have gone down somewhat. I remember buying the vouchers from Connections (now called DealPass) for $11.25 a piece (not sure if that price has changed) about 2 years ago. At that time Q+C vouchers on ebay would sell for around 16.00 and up. That's a profit of 4.75 for each (over 42%). Now on ebay vouchers are still selling at a premium though maybe not as much. But I guess as stated before some folks just want the vouchers and don't feel like signing up, or don't want to look elsewhere...I know I wouldn't pay it.

Now they're going for as much as $18 per voucher, and that's for the Q&C! The VKL vouchers are more than that! I got some on there last month, but only paid $13 for them.

Even if you factor in the cost for Hotwire it still doesn't make sense.

I think there are more costs involved here! If you figure someone actually did join Connections or Hotwire, you have to figure their monthly dues. Then Ebay charges an insertion fee and a final listing fee. Plus, if you use a Reserve Price, listing designer fees, Buy it Now fees! Then don't forget about PayPal and their credit card or Premier account fees.... YEESH! I think by the time everyone gets their fees, the seller makes a buck or two per voucher! LOL!

Actually you can sign on with Connections for one month and pay only $1 for a trial membership, then cancel (I know you could do that, because I did just that). You were also able to buy as many vouchers (whether it was quick + casual, etc) as you wanted. Now I think they've caught on that people were re-selling the vouchers on-line, and they've put yearly purchasing limits on the vouchers for each membership. But, if you wanted to buy more, all you needed to do was sign up using another CC. If you purchase the vouchers from Connections and do what I said (hint, hint), you can make some decent money re-selling them. I'm not questioning sellers/buyers, I'm simply explaining that the selling price is rather high based on how much you actually buy them for from Connections, etc. Aside from ebay and paypal fees, your profit will be about what I stated.
