What is the cost of Dinner at Palo's?

Hello,

Dinner at Palo costs $5 per person service charge and be very sure to make your reservations when you first board the ship. The reservations sell out VERY quickly! Check the Personal Navigator ship bulletin for the location of the reservations desk for Palo. It is the best specialty restaurant and definitely the BEST price on the seas....

Have a magical day!

WOW!!!! Only $5 man I thought with all the great reviews it would be more than that....Sign me up...LOL Oh wait I have to get there 1st......

No -- dinner at Palo's is $10/service charge per person. But it is WELL worth it. We also did the brunch this time, which we were told was $5/pp but turned out to be $10/pp. Still worth it. Especially the nice, clean adult atmosphere and the great view. The wait staff act more like your butler than your server!

i'm not sure when the increase goes/went into effect -- but the initial Palo fee has been increased to $10 per person

this is for your server's tip (as I understand it) - however, keep in mind that your server should be tipped according to the level of service you feel you received for the quality of the restaraunt. Palo far exceeds anything we can experience at home, and I would value our meal about $50-75 per person (of course this will vary according to where we all live) so DH and I tipped as if we had a $175 (approx) bill. We tipped Eduardo generously as we felt he served us exceptionally well.

also - be aware of as I was totally unaware -- our server started off by asking us what water we wanted and if I remember correctly there were three if not four choices. apparently DH felt a bit cheesy ordering plain tap water and opted for Evian, at an addt'l cost. Also, Eduardo played our weakness like a violin ;) and I ordered a glass of wine at probably $7.50 a glass, and we both had a speciality coffee with our dessert, at around $5.50 per cup. So why this reply? just to be informed that you will be offered 'extra's with a price tag at Palos, at least we were. Our $5 per person meal ended up costing us around $60.

btw -- LOVED it and we booked REAS for our next cruise to pre-book our Palo (one of many perks of this package) and I had no qualms or regrets about our fantastic dinner at Palo:wave2:

Ssatterly,
I have been thinking of your daughter, just wondering how she was doing? You had posted last week about her possibly having cancer, just hoping things turned out OK?

I do have a update but I have not posted it due to the reactions I got last time. So here it is. She does in fact have a very small tumor in the lower left lobe of her brain. BUT with it being so small they are not even going to do a biopsy, they are just going to remove it and then test it. I am just hoping that there is no complcations with that. So as of right now I am planning on going on with all of my Disney plans... Whoo hooo.. I thank God that things seem to be going good now. I am still worried but not as near as much....

I will keep her in my thoughts & prayers. Glad to hear it isn't as bad as initially thought.

Yes I am on Cruiemate s and Cruise-addtics for that matter but I have never heard of Dis boards. I am sorry to say. Yes I am the host to the travel bears. I have be on Carnival but that was quite a while ago. I am on Rccl in less than 2 months. I am thinking of doing a cruise next Dec with my family but nothing is set in stone that is still over a year away. I do have a daughter and a son for that matter and neither one is sick. I just don't understand why someone would say my Daughter is sick. They are both healhty happy kids. And yes I work as an EMT and I am in school to become a Paramedic. So I am a very busy person between my kids, school and work. So I don't have a whole lot of time for posting a whole lot. I normally just check the boards here or Cruisemates either when I get up or when I get home from school and or work. I rarely even get a day off between my busy life. Thats why my boyfriend and I are going on this cruise in Dec. Is to have a bit of a break form all the busy maddness I go through. what kind of website is Dis boards anyway? Not sure what is going on.

Yes I agree that more of a tip should be left at Palo for the servers I don't want people to be afraid to go because they think they need to leave a huge tip there and that the servers expect a huge tip in addition. I know that they would appreciate a tip based on land based dining but cruising tip guidelines are a bit different than land based restaurants and I do not believe the staff onboard expects tips based on land restaurant standards. That said we always tip above and beyond but I do not sit and figure out what the meal would cost on land.

I just didn't want to people to shy away from Palo thinking they must $35.00 to $40.00 extra on top of the $10.00 per person.

My feeling is tip what you feel comfortable with.
