I think there is something on the end table that states the fines...I don't remember them though

Call the front desk and complain! This way you won't get blamed for it later!!!

Vero warned us at check-in of a $250 fine if caught smoking either on balcony or in the unit. They suggested that some people offer to pay the fine as a means of "permission."

The no smoking policy is not DVC specific, it is Disney wide. If you have experienced a problem, you should report (in person) to the front desk of your resort at your earliest convenience. If you call, the calls are routed to a central virtual front desk and it won't be answered by someone physically at your resort.

Smoking is a topic we do not permit on the DVC Boards. It tends to quickly turn into a very nasty discussion. This thread is now closed.
