it is a collection of expensive hotels/resorts that direct purchasers can trade into.

examples:

the grove park inn in asheville NC goes for 35 pts/nt up to 59 pts/nt, depending on view and season. the hotel del coronado in san diego goes for 51 pts/nt up to 101 pts/nt. the mandarin oriental in DC goes for 54 pts/nt up to 88 pts/nt. the loews regency hotel in NY goes for 72 pts/nt up to 115 pts/nt. the royal garden hotel in london goes for 64 pts/nt up to 101 pts/nt.

to be detailed, there are also club intrawest and club cordial exchanges that are still available to resale purchasers...but if you are not purchasing DVC to use at DVC resorts, you will not be getting the best value out of it.
