We are flying into Lakeland Airport, in 5 days :cool1:! I am still struggling on how to get to CBR once we land. Any suggestions? We are a family of 5. (2 adults, 3 kids ages 6, 2 & 4 months)

It's too far to walk:) or take a taxi. Your choice is to rent a car or book the (only) company which is offer shuttle service. It looks like the cost for a shuttle will be around $130 + tip each way.

Price a rental car (Hertz or USave).

I don't know if any of the Orlando town car companies service the Lakeland airport. Happy Limo has rates listed for Tampa. Maybe they'll accommodate you I don't think the prices would be any better then the link I posted.

What will you do if the rental rates aren't reasonable and the shuttle company doesn't have any availability?

A rental through USAVE and Hertz is almost $350. Seems like a lot for a car to to sit in the parking lot. We already have reservations with the company you posted for the shuttle.

I just didn't know if others had any other suggestions.

Happy Limo could pick us up for 160 each way. Or VIP would pick us up for either $141 (SUV) each way or 167 (limo) each way

You can price a one day, one way rental with Hertz. Repeat for your return trip. Hetz has some locations in hotels near WDW. 5 people with luggage. You probably can't make do with a small car.

A one way rental will be the lowest cost option.....only problem is that Hertz tends to be expensive compared to the other companies out there. I bet you can rent a car for $50-60.

Maybe closer to $100. Most of the coupons and discount codes aren't applicable to a one day rental let alone one day one way.

With the ages of your kids, you will need 2 car seats, something to consider.

Why don't you try Budget in Lakeland. They might come pick you up at the airport and if they don't perhaps take a cab the few miles to location. I don't know your dates and times but I plugged in BCD x474200 (travelocity code) and E-Coupon MUGZ029 for $30 off and for a minivan from Feb 12 - 19th I get $236 inc taxes after coupon is applied when return vehicle. A one way rental from hertz is $100 so both ways is going to be $200 plus and same for shuttle service from airport to Disney.

That's not an airport location. The hours don't match flight times. Some flights leave before the office is open for returns and some flights arrive after the office is closed for the day. An airport location will extend their hours to accommodate customers on a delayed flight.

Posters have said the agency doesn't offer shuttle service to the airport.

The suggestion of using a non-airport location comes up in similar threads. It doesn't work.

The Lakeland airport is closer to Tampa then it is to Orlando. People flying into Lakeland need to consider the cost of ground transportation when evaluating the cost of flights.

We got 5 tickets - direct flights, for $800, so I will will pay the 250 in shuttle fees. I am still saving over 600 since I won't be flying into MCO!
