I know we will get caught in the rain at some point this trip and I want to know what is the best method for drying out wet sneakers. I can't wear Teva type shoes due to foot problems so they are not an option. I have a hard enough time getting my swimsuits to dry in the room so I can't imagine drying sneakers.

On our last trip (may 14 - june 04 05) we got caught in a huge downpoor leaving MK after Wishes, we were already on the tram back to the parking lot when the skies opened! We then lost our car - and the upshot was we all got drenched - I'm sorry to say that it took 2 days for my sneakers to dry out, and in hindsite I wished I had whipped them off and put them in my backpack and walked bare foot to the car! (not the safest of options I know)
I will be interested in others advice on this thread!!!!

Crinkle up newspaper and stuff them in your shoes and they will be dry by morning. I've done this many times when I was an avid runner and had the skies open up on me while out on a run.

We tried the blow dryer, but it didn't work very well.

The dryer in the laundry room is the only thing that has ever worked for me when I've been caught in a downpour. I really only have one pair of tennis shoes that are comfortable, so trip before last I bought a pair of Minnie Mouse flip-flops. Now when it threatens rain, I change shoes and put my tennies in my backpack. The dryers do work but they take forever, and your shoe will often hit the dryer door from the inside and open it, so you have to stay and babysit them!!!

I like the newspaper idea, because I have never had much luck in the past with the dryers or hair dryers. I was just thinking about taking the water shoes and switching. Orginally we were not taking a backpack to the parks but now we will. Thanks everyone.
