Feb UY works well for us - we do all our travel between spring break and August.

First of all, you are covering a span of almost half a year here (APR-AUG). As a rule of thumb, (DISNEY will confirm) buy your UY at least 4 months prior to the dates you plan on traveling. Keep in mind that you own for at least 40 years, and your travel habits will change with time.

Spring is our main time to visit, so our guide gave us an April UY (of course we go 4 times a year, so also go in August, October, Janaury). But if we ever had to cut back we would always still go late April/early May.

The best UY is the one that just precedes your trips. March is likely best but Feb would likely work fine as well. April even could be a good choice depending on when your spring break usually is.

If you think you will go anytime from March through August, Feb or March use year is fine, even December is OK. Use year does not determine when you can go (which is any time of year) or when you can call to reserve (always 11 months in advance at home resort, 7 at others). It is only an issue if you have to cancel a trip and that involves ability to bank points if you have to cancel. You can bank points into the next use year any time through the first eight months of your use year. Thus, if you have a Feb use year and reserve an Aug trip with Feb points and then have to cancel in June, you will still have plenty of time to bank the points. On the other hand if you have a Sep use year and reserve an Aug trip and use Sep points to book that later Aug trip and then have to cancel in June, you would be beyond your banking deadline.

We have a Feb. UY. It works well for us. As a teacher, my options for travel are limited to Feb, Apr, summer and xmas ( which isn't likely to happen) So Feb. works well. We always go in April, but it is nice to know if ever we could not go, we have the entire summer to go. We might try Feb. too someday.
