The big log fire in the bar - perfect to warm you up after you come in from a day in the parks in winter weather.

I'd say being close to the parks. I've stayed both there and at Newport Bay Club and the walk was quicker from the Sequoia Lodge even though it is the cheaper of the two. Plus out of all the hotels, I think it has the best themeing apart from the Disneyland Hotel itself.

Cheaper drinks in the bar than that of the New York Hotel which is just next door.

A meal at the Hunter's Grill. Feels cosy.

Blossom you can post the dates of your trip on one of the stickies at the top - when are you going :)

Blossom, we'll be there at the same time!:cool1:

You know that though don't you because you are my DD!:rotfl:

Hope this hasn't embarrassed you too much - I'll make it up to you by not dancing down Main Street this time (well probably!)

Really??? Nice to see another mother and daughter team here on the DLP board and especially another mother who delights in embarrassing her long-suffering DD :rotfl2: :rotfl2: !!

Oooh that's the best thing, singing and dancing down Main Street whilst embarassing your children - once you hear that Main Street music you can't help yourself.

My daughter Rachel also posts here from time to time. (Rachelpixiedust)

Have a great holiday Rose and Blossom, we are hoping to stay at Sequoia Lodge next year (July time again) so it's very interesting for me to hear more about the hotel.

The atmosphere in the main building where they play gentle birdsong and there is an essence of pine (or a kind of treey smell) together with the wooden furniture it works well.

3 mother and daughter teams now - we'll be taking over the board next!!! ;)

Hi,
We're staying in the Sequoia for the first time in December....does anyone know if there are kettles in the room. We need a kettle to make formula for our baby. If there isn't one I'll have to make sure we pack one!

You can borrow a kettle from the conceirge. From what i remember you have to pay for tea/coffee making stuff but kettle is free. However there's no fridge in the rooms so you'd have to make eech one separately. We took premade formula cartons with our DD when she was younger to prevent this problem.

Hope this helps

I'm very careful about letting my DS and DD use forums, but I knew that DD would be welcomed and respected on this board. Now we both look forward to logging on and catching up!

Regards
Rosie

Thanks Angela, we're leaning towards the cartons, we'd just have to take quite a few of them!

We took a travel kettle that we bought in Argos, it has proved to be well worth the money we spent on it. It has seen its fair share of hotel rooms now. Quite often we do not have to use it because kettles are in the rooms but at the SL it did come in handy. Although like other posters have said they will give you one on request.
The SL was great, close to park to walk and very convenient on the bus. The worse thing for me was the pool. It was freezing ! Also it was quite deep, my DS who is 8 and able to swim says that it was too deep and he could of drown ( true of any pool ) I really fancied the Jacuzzi and had my cossi packed but to get to the Jacuzzi you had to go through the not very shallow freezing cold water.:cold: :sad2: I may have got this all wrong but I couldn't see another way of getting to the jacuzzi. I would willingly give the pool a miss in December but I get the feeling that DS will want to see if his swimming skills have improved.
In spite of this the SL is a great hotel and I can't wait to go back

We loved many thing about SL.

I especially liked the picturesque walk round Lake Disney, past the people having lots of fun ice skating and through Disney Village to get to the parks. I would think it would be nice to see Panaromagique now as well :)

I loved the bar at SL which hqad a wonderful open fireplace. It had lots of cozy sofas which were ideal for curling up on with a drink!

The shop had a good range of DLP merchandise and sundries as well :)

Have fun! We loved it there :)
