What is the best surprise present you have received...

What is the best surprise present you have received from your dh or kids (or so)??? The best present I have received was a big glue gun. I do a lot of crafts and had been using glue from a bottle. It was a pain in the you know what. Another surprise was a cell phone. That came out of the blue. My dd & I were going to Florida the middle of Jan. and he wanted me to have it in case we ran into trouble.

Years ago, when my dd's were small my dh bought me my own car for Christmas. We only had one car at the time and I was a stay at home mom, so even though it was an older used car, it meant the world to me because it gave me freedom during the day when dh was at work! I still remember looking outside during the night to see if it was snowing - it was - and wondering who the heck had parked their car in our driveway. LOL. DH had wrapped the key up in a small jewelery box, so I thought that I was getting jewelery. Was I ever surprised!

One of my best suprise presents was in 97 when my Lisa bought me a chain and charm for it that said best father from her and Paige it was so nice to get something like that. My most wonderful suprise gift was my trip to WDW in 96 just before christmas it was the first time there since 78

Wow Peggy, what a great surprise gift!!

When I was little (5 or 6), I went through a sweet mixed pickles stage. I loved them, and ate them as often as my Mom would let me. Imagine my surprise when I found a jar of pickles in my stocking one Christmas morning!!

It's funny, I don't remember the things I got as much as I remember my DH's reaction to the best present I got him. (It was a real, manual camera, and we both thought they were way too expensive). he was completely blown away.

I'm actually really bad at being the receivee. I'm told I'm really hard to buy for, which I don't understand, but I think part of it is that DH doesn't believe in buying something you've said you wanted. He wants to figure it out on his own. A case in point, one year I mentioned that I would like this CD alarm clock thingy that would let you go to sleep to ocean sounds (guess which feature I wanted the most?). I got a small nifty Sony stereo system (no ocean sounds), but far more expensive than he should have spent.

This year, I think he'll be surprised again, although no way I'm going to top the camera (I did once for his birthday by getting him a zoom lens). But I'm pretty sure that I've gotten him something he'd want if he knew it existed. I think my best surprise Christmas gift is the look on his face when I've gotten it right.
