What is the best strategy to stalk the elusive FP+

So I guess I need to dedicate all my spare time to hunting down FP+ for Mine train and I guess I'm a little confused on the best way to do it.

I've been going into MDE, clicking on the Fastpass+ tab on the drop down menu and then going in to change FP+ experience or time. I then click into my two MK days, and then pick the first FP+ on the list and hit 'change experience'. Then I look to see if there is a mine train available.

Now, do I need to also change the time, or when I click 'change experience', will mine trains available at any time pop up?

I also have read that making a FP+ for one person, and then looking for overlapping times would work, but I don't see how I can search for only one person, because it doesn't give me the option to click one individual.

I also could switch my Epcot day to MK if I could get a Mine Train FP+, but is there a way I can search for FP+ in MK when I already have them in Epcot without canceling my Epcot FP+? I have been checking on the Dibb site and also the touring plans site, but I don't want to risk canceling my Soarin' FP, and then getting in and finding out that the Mine Train FP is already gone.

Why is this so complicated?

Now, do I need to also change the time, or when I click 'change experience', will mine trains available at any time pop up? This is tricky. I am not sure if this is an absolute yes. I think it looks for attractions available in your slot or other times of day. So Mine Train should pop up if it is available. On my phone, where I do most of my MDE activity, it just spit out a time once I select an attraction I wish to switch to. Then I can change that time by relearning the process but choosing change time.

I also have read that making a FP+ for one person, and then looking for overlapping times would work, but I don't see how I can search for only one person, because it doesn't give me the option to click one individual. I can't do a sceen shot because it would show our names--but you can do it by individual. Via phone MDE, you select FP+, then manage, then change experience or time, then select what attraction you wish to change...then select change experience or change time. Then select party appears. You have the option to select all or only specific people. Choose the one person you want to change and then continue the process. Computer should be similar, but presentation is a little different In how it looks on the screen. So it may be a little different. But the steps I gave, I just walked through it on my lphone.

I am unsure. All my days are maxed out right now. So I had to resolve a conflict to check. I set up to select new FP as I ordinarily would. Then the conflict alert came up. To resolve, it said " replace _____'s fastpasses with what I am about to choose". As I don't want to make myself a test subject, I stopped there and did not go further. So I don't know if original fastpasses are preserved if you end up finding nothing and don't make new selections.

Why is this so complicated? In this case, it is because you want a coveted fastpass for a new ride that has already exhausted availability. I tried this once and I did give up. 5 members in our party. Riding standby at rope drop was just preferable by me given I could not ride anyway. That worked for our family.

Thank you so much! I have pretty much stayed away from MDE on my phone, because I had always read it was more complicated. I guess it makes sense to go to a more complicated thing to do a complicated act (or something like that) :)

It is easier to do things on my computer. But it is more convenient on my phone.

I wish I could see it the same way on my phone.

The only other thing you'll need to think about is that it will not show times available during other fastpasses you have. So if you have a fast pass for, let's say, haunted mansion from 11:00-12:00 and a fastpass is, in fact, available for 7DMT at that time, it won't show up :/. I've been trying to change a 7DMT time for one of our days and I've been checking for availability, then changing each of my other fastpasses for another time (one that would also work in case I can't change it back) and checking for 7DMT again in case there was availability during that time slot. Does that make sense?

Are you staying on site ? If you are go to rope drop on an EMH am and be in the front of the line. If not on site which I am guessing you aren't go on rope stop on a non EMH day be in the front to get to ride. No fast passes needed.

We rode twice this way during the busy Easter week
