What is the best signature dining location?

My favorite is Narcoossee's! Mouth watering food, fantastic service, and beautiful view! We return everytime we are at WDW!!!! :thumbsup2

Definitely better than California Grill. I'd put Artist Point first, Jiko second, Citrios third, and California Grill fourth.

I'd agree with Bicker's ranking of AP first. I'd probably have Yachtsman pretty high on my list, but not as high as AP.

Our 3 faves are California Grille, Narcoosees and Artist Point.

CA Grille has a great MK view (but the other views are good too) and a wonderful menu. We like the filet mignon with a noce bottle of wine to go with it.

Narcoosees has a relaxed location on the water with a view of the MK fireworks and of the CR. The filet is also good here

Artist Point doesn't have the best view, but does have a nice menu and OK service. Try the bison!

How would you compare this to Citricos? Have you been?

We've been to Citricos several times. We are always impressed by the level of service we receive there, but the meal itself is hit or miss, depending on what you order. The crab gateau appetizer is awesome, but the charcuterie plate was disappointing in its selection, and the goat cheese salad was EXTREMELY tart. The duck ravioli was good, very rich, but the foie gras was a little overwhelmed by the pasta (this is from a while back; I'm not a pescatarian). The desserts were so-so, but nothing outstanding. I'm very particular about desserts; I feel underwhelmed by most desserts at WDW restaurants. I would say the chocolate dessert at Cali Grill and the Passionfruit Mousse in Orange Scented Chocolate Purse at V&A's are the only 2 standouts for us, dessert-wise.

Cheers!

I've tried 3 of them:

California Grill- #1
Jiko- #2
Brown Derby- #3 not worht 2 TS in my opinion

We've eaten at the following signature restaurants several times... here are my ratings:

Jiko - A+ for food quality, A+ for service, B for atmosphere. We continue to be impressed by the unique variety of dishes offered here. Our meals here are the most memorable and the staff leaves you feeling pampered. I wish there was a nice view from the restaurant.

Artist Point - A for food quality, A+ for service, A for atmosphere. We love certain dishes here, but the menu leans a bit to "run of the mill" variety. I might rate it higher if I weren't allergic to fish - my family loves their cedar plank salmon. We love the peaceful setting and the attentive service. This was our favorite for several years, but the food at Jiko has moved this long-time favorite to second place.

Citrico's - A- for food quality, A for service, B for atmosphere.

California Grill - B for food quality, A for service, - the atmosphere rating will depend on what you like.... the view is A++, but it is a noisy room, so if you like a quiet, romantic meal....B-.

We've tried Yachtsman and Narcoossee's and we prefer Narcoossee's. In fact, we have returned to Narcoossee's each time we visit. It is just absolutely beautiful there, and we always time our dinner to coincide with the MK fireworks and the electric water parade. They pipe the music through the speakers and have a wonderful deck area that you can step out to and watch. In fact, our server saw that we had stepped out, and asked the kitchen to hold on our entrees. By the time we returned, our plates were coming out hot, fresh and delicious!

We choose to get the lobster most times, and it is superb! The desserts are fantastic, the appetizers are unique and very tasty. Even the bread and butter that they send out is exquisite. I'm sure that there are many great 2 TS meals that we haven't tried, but we can't get enough of Narcoossee's!

We loved the sushi and the cheese plate at California Grill. The entrées were superb - it would be well worth 2 TS.

We also loved Jiko, but would both rank it behind the California Grill.

We haven't tried Narcoossees - there are menus posted for each restaurant. You might want to check them out to see which appeals to you more!

It really depends on what you like. Cali Grill and the Bistro (can you use DDP here?) are favorites with Citricos running a close third (Our waiter was AMAZING. He gave us a tour of the chef's table at V&A and held putting in our entrees and snuck us down the back steps to watch Wishes.)

Cannot stand Yachtsman. This was the worst Signature dining meal we had. Bad service, steak was mediocre. We did like the atmosphere (we had a window table) and they did have a decent wine list.

I will be having Narcoosies for the first time in 8 days (woohoo!) based on the recommendations I have read (and Citricos is closed that night). Can't comment on AP. We live in Colorado, so the idea of having game isn't special to us, but if they do a good job, Carabou is really amazing!

Gosh, my favorite hasn't made the list yet. I would think that The Flying Fish on the Boardwalk ranks right up there with the rest of them. If you've never eaten there, I would highly recommend it!

I agree Mike that Flying Fish is a great place to eat, but I don't know it that would be the best deal for 2 TC. We eat there almost every trip but spend the least amount of money there compared to the other Signature Dining places.

My vote would be for California Grill, first followed by Artist Point.

Here's another country heard from:
Jiko, California Grill, Citricos, Flying Fish, Artist Point, Narcoossee's and Yachtsman.
