We are looking for something good in DDD for dinner. Any suggestions? We thought about the Rainforest Cafe being fun for the kids. Is the food/atmosphere good? Also, I know the Disney line doesn't take ADR's for this Rainforest Cafe, only the AK one, so do they take advance reservations by calling them direct at DDD? THANKS:goodvibes

I personally like the Rainforest. I think the food is pretty good and it's cool. My kids were a little scared by the animals, which I tought was odd, since they don't really get scared of things. :) Now they say "please don't make us go to the animals." But I think they are the exception... most kids seem to love it.

We ate at Wolfgang Puck Cafe (the TS one) last year and I liked it too.

The new T-Rex cafe is supposed to open November-ish... now we will take the boys there, I guarantee it will be "scarier" than Rainforest, but they will LOVE that one.

Oh and you can call RFC directly at DTD and make your reservation.

Have fun!

We enjoyed the Rainforest Cafe...The food is good (not the best, not the worst) and the atmosphere is great...Our kids loved it and we liked it also... We went for lunch and made our ADR way in advance...

We also want to check-out T-Rex... We are going in November and we hope we will get to go...But for now we are going to reserve RC again and then hope to change it once we get closer.

is another that is good for kids - though we generally go to RFC. Yes you can get something similar to an ADR by calling RFC direct.

My daughter was afraid of the animals at first. We were seated right next to the elephants. By the time dinner was over she loved them. She was three at the time.

We like the RFC, the food is similar to a TGIF or Chilis. Not keen on the limited menu at Planet Hollywood. HoB is awesome!

fultons crab house ---- we took my neice and nephew there, and they liked the thought of being on the ship... and looking around, and trying to think what happened in the rooms, before it was a resturant.

I did not think the kids would like it but they did. And you can get ADR

You do not mention if you are on the dining plan. Rainforest Cafe, Fultons and House of Blues do not accept the dining plan. Nor do Wolfgang Pucks Upstairs (the downstairs TS takes it), Bongos, or Portobello Yacht Club. T-Rex probably won't either (Yak & Yeti is the only Landry's restaurant at WDW that takes DDP).

I like Portobello Yacht Club, Fultons, House of Blues and Raglin Road. Rainforrest is OK but they are all over. Wolfgang Pucks is nice too. Have not been to Bongos in a while. Captain Jacks is closed for a while and Planet Hollywood used to be awful. Have not been in years.

When we lived in Orlando, I had to bribe my son with Rainforest Cafe... "you be good at preschool and Ill take you to Rainforest on Saturday" LMAO..

Hes addicted to it!

oh and I thought the Portobello Yacht Club was disgusting... but Im a very picky eater (although my pizza had spinach yuck! lol)

We like Rainforest Cafe and I was just told you had to call them direct to book. You can book up to 180 days in advance. The food is similar to Fridays or Applebees. The kids get a kick out of it. The gift shop is neat too!!

Rainforest Cafe is fun with kids and we like Planet Hollywood and House of Blues but, living near a big city we can go to these restaurants anytime so we generally steer toward others when in the world. We went to Fulton's Crab House in October and had a very nice meal but the bill came to more than $200 for the two of us ... glad we did it but don't feel compelled to do so again. Guess if you are going with kiddos ... go with Rainforest and depending on when you are going (weather) sitting outside might be nice.

We really like Fulton's. It is not on the dining plan so we haven't been the last two years. But we are doing it out of pocket this year as our special 25th anniversary dinner. We do not like Planet Hollywood or Rainforest Cafe--we have both in Chicago and they do not appeal to us at all. We did Wolfgang years ago...it was okay. We have not tried any of the others.

Any official word on T-Rex yet?
