I would like to get a room at AKL at the 7 month window. I do not have points at AKL... I do at OKW and BWV. I have banked enough points for the 2009 UY to cover a room at either AKL or OKW.

My question is this...

What is the best way to ensure that I
  1. Get a room at either OKW or AKL
  2. Preferably get a room at AKL
  3. Use banked points instead of current points for use year 2009.

Do I book a room at OKW at 11 months to ensure I have a room? Do I book it with current or banked points? Then at 7 months what do I use to book AKL? If I had used banked to book OKW can I change the AKL points to the banked points canceling the OKW reservation?

What is the best way to accomplish getting AKL at 7 months using banked points?

Many thanks....

Personally, I would book a room at OKW at the 7-month mark and then attempt to switch it at the 7-month mark. I don't think you'll have much trouble getting an AKV as the resort is going to be HUGE.

You'll want to use up your banked points first, as they will expire at the end of that UY if not used, and then use current points. So make your OKW reservation with your banked points and then add current points, if necessary, to get to the total needed. Then, when you switch to AKV, MS will use up those points and then add to it, as needed.

Are there any issues of replacing points with banked points on an existing reservation? Can they do that? Do I run the risk of getting the AKL reservation messed up some how when they swap points? Are they really swapping points or are they making a new reservation with the banked points and canceling the one with current points?

Many thanks...

Safest way is to just book with current Points 11month OKW ( you will need to tell them your Plan when booking). Then call at 7 months and Book AKV with your banked points. After you get the Confirm number ask to cancel the other.

Now depending on the room type and Time like others have stated I don't see a problem but that's up to you.

I just booked my entire 11 days for June 09 at the 7 month mark as I'm borrowing almost all the points and didn't want to use anything I wouldn't need so I skipped the 11 month booking and took a chance. I got just what I wanted VWL/BCV .
