Have you found good air fair? i tried Delta and there price was out of controll! When dose south west come out for sept? :rotfl:

It really depends on your airport. Try expedia or travelocity first and then go directly to the websites of other air carriers that aren't included in those searches. Southwest, airtran, and spirit come to mind as airlines I would check if they fly from your home airport. I am sure there are a few others.
Sidestep is the most comprehensive airfare search that I know of but you have to download software (free) to use it. Some people think that's a pain.

It's no longer necessary to download Sidestep's software to do an airfare search on their site. I'm glad that they made the change because my Anti-Spyware software consistently flagged Sidestep as spyware. I'm not sure whether there was additional spyware that came with the software but after using it, I would run AdAware and remove SideStep just in case.

Priceline now allows you to search for airfare and select the flight of your choice. You can still name your own price, but you run the risk of not getting your preferred times, or having multiple connections.

I just booked Southwest out of Hartford for $79 each way, July 19 - 26th.

:thewave:

On the east coast, also check Song & JetBlue. We don't have them yet, so no personal experience.

So far, Southwest has had the best rates and schedules from PHX to MCO, since PHX is one of its hubs. All of the other airlines (including AmericaWest, which is based at PHX) require layovers and transfers at other airports. Turns an uncomfortable 5-hour flight into all-day misery!

I personally found Orbitz much more effective than Travelocity or Expedia. Orbitz seemed to have quite a few low fares that the other two never showed. I also like how you can search for the lowest fares in a 30 day time period. It is really helpful if you are flexible with your dates.

I guess who has the lowest fares really depends on where you are flying out of. Because for me, Delta was the lowest price I could find. Roundtrip from Portland, OR to Orlando in late May for $233 including taxes and fees.

and got 135.50 round trip per person from NY to Orlando. Have you checked there? I usually always book Jetblue, but 144. one way from NY to Orlando is unbelievable. I didn't want to lose the Song fares while waiting for Jetblue's to come down (although I am sure they will eventually, just not sure by how much)...

I just got $132 on SWA from Hou to MCO!! Unbelievable--I have never seen it that low for us on a direct flight!!

We usesd Independence Air. From Washington DC to MCO
$120 plus Tax. Lowest we have seen.

I thought I did well getting $158 rt from DC to MCO for the 3rd week in June on Independence Air, how did you get $120! Also, does anyone know if ME bus will pick up for Independence? Thx.

Keep checking back with Southwest and get yourself on their e-mail list. Last year we got $98 round trip from Philadelphia!

It really depends where you are flying from. In PA there are two discount airlines making trips to Orlando. Trans-Meridean airlines flies out of Harrisburg and Allentown. They have a limited schedule and they fly into Sanford-Orlando (a much smaller airport) but you can't beat the prices for a direct flight. Usually around $160 RT!!! www.iflytma.com

The other is airtran. They fly out of Allentown and Philly. You can keep your RT under $200 there as well. www.airtran.com

Good luck. Let us know how you make out.

AirTran offers the best that I have found. We are going from PHL to MCO for $49.00 out and $79.00 back. ($128.00 per person +tax) Best I have ever gotten for a RT Non-Stop flight!

Good luck http://www.airtran.com/

if you find a good price on Delta, US Airways, etc... website... buy the Entertainment.com book, use the $30 off coupon for Hotwire.com and you'll come out ahead

that's what I did for my flight (Delta) in May

The best non-stop from DFW-MCO I could find was 210.00 taxes and fees included in June. Any other DFW people find a non-stop any cheaper?
