What is the benefit of booking for Summer 2012?

This year we have booked to go to disney in July - reason being we wanted the longer hours and the fireworks. After booking (and paying ott prices) we have been reading that from April they will be doing the above every night anyway! So what is the benefit now for those booking and paying through the roof prices for summer (Jul/Aug)this year?

Fireworks (if they do them like usual), better weather (normally), less risk in having refurbs as it's the main 2 months, all restaurants open etc etc

The hours will probablly not be the same from April to end of September, talk is that they will be longer than now but July/August will be longer still. But that won't be known for a bit yet

If you can go at a different time, why not give them a call and see if you can amend it? There will be charge involved but it may still save you money

theres no fireworks planned for outside of high summer season as far as I'm aware. I also wouldn't imagine the extended hours from April to September would be as late as 11pm, as it is in high summer period.
I assume it will be more like 9pm or 10pm latest, like weekend hours, and to allow for Fantillusion (if thats happening outside of high summer season) and the light show on the Castle to be shown in darkness.

I think if you're not tied to school holidays then it must be very appealing to go outside of these times. However even though I'm tied to the school holidays by my job, I'd still always choose August over any other month! Partly because I like to see Fantillusion and fireworks and have the long summer evenings (IMO they far outweigh any crowds or queues) and partly because if we don't go away in August I find the summer holiday drags on for far too long!

I'd got the impression that there weren't going to be fireworks as such this summer but that they were being replaced by Dreams. The brochure is only mentioning Fantillusion (7th July - 2nd September) and Dreams.

Didn't they announce that 2011 was the last year for the Enchanted fireworks?

So more than likely longer hours - not by that much though - as much as in previous years.... and more than likely hardly any ride or restaurant closures? That really doesn't seem enough to want to pay that huge difference in price.

I would have saved £800+ booking my 2 rooms for June 2012 back when I started checking out prices last year (before they released July prices) wish i'd known of this last year before booking flights etc.
I booked my flights last year (to get a good price) so I wouldn't be able to change the date now anyway.

Previous years would have probably been worth it but it looks like it really isn't worth paying those extra hundreds of pounds more this year. Just my luck!

Aww that is a lot of money. If there are any better offers come out why not try upgrading hotels? Sometimes people have managed to do this by changing hotel or adding a dining plan and only had to pay a nominal extra amount.

We booked 2 rooms under the 25% offer and when the 30% offer came out looked at this for us but it was working out less than £100 cheaper and as we've earned more by booking through Quidco there was no benefit to us.

Sure you'll have a wonderful time anyway.

We booked under the 25% offer too and noticed it's now gone to the 30% offer. I was thinking of upgrading hotels (already had the dining vouchers) but i'd need to add nearly 200 to do that and I really dont want to go any higher than what i've already paid out for this trip.

I think I really need to stop reading more info and checking on the prices - nothing worse than feeling like you've been "done" huh?
One of these days i'm going to be one of those lucky ones who get that amazing deal!

I can't wait to go - booking early has just made it feel like it's dragging out longer. I swear i'm worse than the kids!
