I have been checking the Southwest website several times a day now for weeks. Has anyone called them to find out when they are releasing dates after Sept 12?? (If they will even give out that kind of info :sad2: )

I am not going to Disney until the end of Nov so I wonder if my dates will even be included with the next release?......

This is crazy because I have my resort booked, my tickets ordered, my MVMCP tickets in hand, most of my PS's planned, and NO airfare......

Anyone know what's causing the delay?

I'm also going in November and need flight. I called them about a month ago and she said that she has no idea when they would release more dates. Good Luck!!

There is no rhyme or reason to when SWA will release dates or how far they will release them to. This is just another aggravating aspect of dealing with SWA.

I changed my rez in Sept to Jet Blue, saved money, got a reserved seat (no midnights for me), and I have everything booked.

I just called SWA - they were very pleasant and he told me that he doesn't know the dates but did look up when the dates for our trip were released last year. We're traveling Sept 17-25 and those dates were released on May 4th last year...so any day now.

dznyntnh - no Jet Blue in our market, unfortunately. The direct competition is Song for us (which we're taking in May) but Song is showing $79 each way for Sept and I'm holding out for a lower fare from Southwest.

Keeping my fingers crossed!

This is SWA's standard operating procedure. They wait until a few months out, then release their fares/flights.

The good news is, that once a flight is published, SWA very RARELY (almost never) changes times, or cancels flights.

I have never seen anything lower than 79 each way for Southwest unless it was a ding rate or special. They won't be lower than 79 each way when the dates do finally come out, will they???
***We are waiting for late Oct.***
Good luck to everyone when they do finally come out.

SWA waits until they have all their ducks in a row before they release any flights. They are adding some new routes and taking delivery of some new planes, so that could be what is holding things up.

One thing great about SWA is once they publish a schedule, you can rest assured it won't change! (Weather and Mechanical nothwithstanding)

probably not. we fly out of PVD and rates are generally $79 when they are released, then dropping over time. when they drop you can alter your reservation online if there are seats available on your flight at the lower rate. the difference will be held in 'ticketless travel funds credit'.

Going nuts waiting for December flights...we come back in January and you just know that they will only book till the day before we want to come back, lol! :rotfl:

We got a rate of $49 each way from Phillie to MCO for June. Booked in April. This was not a ding rate (haven't even seen a DING rate beat it yet), but an internet special rate. The rates were there for a while before we booked the beginning of April and the rates were there until April 21st. They are now at 79 each way. I am hoping for the $49.00 rate for our August trip.

I e-mailed the Southwest Vacations dept by mistake, I was trying to ask about just airfare. My question was when the flights would be out. The answer I got was rates and availability for Oct 29, 2005 through December 10, 2005 are tentatively scheduled for release on June 9, 2005. And tentative dates are subject to change without notice.

That doesn't answer the question for Sept 12 to Oct 29, either.

I actually gave up waiting. We are going Jersey week, a busy time and I was able to get a decent price at US airways, so I booked it. I know last year for our dates, SW was never lower than what I paid this year.

Good luck everybody.

I am waiting....patiently :rotfl:

We are the end of October beginning of Nov. I keep reminding myself it is worth the wait to have a non-stop flight and to know my flight times won't be changed.......I am a creature of habit.....I don't like change :rolleyes1 ....lol

Lets all keep our fingers crossed they will be out soon.

We've gotten $49 each way a couple of times on both SWA and Song, so I'm hoping that we see that $49 fare again for September. We're going next week on Song for $49 each way...actually that's the reason we're going next week - couldn't pass up that fare!
