Is it like a Peter Pan flying or is it a simulated thing?? Just wondering if I can handle riding it:) It looks so cool!

Only the best ride ever! It is three rows of seat that lift up and "fly" over a large movie screen that plays a beautiful film about California. It has scents piped in that match what is on the screen like the orange groves, the pine trees, the ocean etc...you better get fast passes for it and wait in line because once you ride it you will want to do it over and over again!

Will it make me dizzy? Does it fly really high? How long is the ride?

It won't make you dizzy. You don't move as in a Peter Pan ride. You actually are sitting (suspended in the air in a seat and strapped in securely) in front of an Imax theater screen. The seats tilt and other effects are used to give you the sensation of hang-gliding. It's an AWESOME ride! Please don't miss it! :thumbsup2

It is only like the BEST RIDE EVER!!! I loved it! I did get slightly dizzy during a couple of scenes, but somebody on the DIS gave some good advice about how to combat the dizziness - which I cannot remember!

I hope they see this and chime in with their advice!

It is very smooth. And believe me, I am the biggest chicken when it comes to rides. It reminds me of riding on a porch swing. :goodvibes:

If you get dizzy, try closing your eyes. It isn't so much the effect of the seats moving but the movement in relation to the film. Also I recommend sitting in the front row if you can

My Dh hates just hates anything his feet are unsupported on. He will not ride any kind of ski lift etc and we really had to conjole him onto the ride- in fact he was seated with his seat belt on and he looked at me and said I don't think I want to ride... well I said (thinking quick) oh look they just pushed the start button too late you'll be fine. it started and he LOVED it we got off and had to get fast passes so he could go on again! Later in the week we went back to Epcot and he volunteered to run over and get fast passes while the kids looked in innovations. It really is a great ride. We ended up riding all three rows and they were all great to me, not much difference.

This is a great ride. I generally don't like rides that I feel like I am free flying in, but I love this ride. I rode it the first time in CA.

Last time we were there (march 06), park employees were saying that they might be changing it over to a FL theme vs CA theme. It might just be a rumor.
I love the CA theme and scents...orange grove and ocean....

There might be a couple of times you'd get a little dizzy, but just close your eyes until it passes. It's a relatively quick ride, so you'll be fine. :)

Oh my, I could babble on about this ride all day, but basically, yeah, you hanglide over scenes of California for about five minutes. Its really smooth, you're strapped in, and it just feels like you're flying. It's an awesome feeling.

Apparently it goes 40ft high, but you don't really notice.

Although I'm not sure I'll be too happy on it knowing how high up I am!!!
