What is Pontins?

I was watching Robb Alvey's European Coaster Video (available on www.themeparkreview.com) and he shot video of a hotel called Pontins. After seeing it, I wouldn't wish my worst enemy there! I checked their website and I didn't see a photo of their rooms anywhere (surprisingly). It looks like it's in the UK, so who has heard of it? What is this place? Is it as bad as it looks?

Pontins (and their evil twin Butlins) are holiday camps - har de har har!!! Started way back in the 50's and haven't really evolved since.
There are several dotted around the UK, ready to catch you unawares.

Yellow(or ist it Red) coated staff are there to entertain and organise you and generally keep you from escaping the fun and merriment.

I was taken once as a small child and as a result am severely traumatised, and have never trusted my parents since.

Never, ever, ever go there!!!

We went to Pontins in Brixham when I was a teenager in the late sixties/ early seventies and had a great time. Probably not the same now, our expectations of a holiday have changed and the places have become very rundown and dirty.
My own children expect a bedroom each on holiday whereas I was prepared to sleep on the put-u-up. They expect to go abroad whereas at the same age a week in Devon was fantastic. Times change.
