What Is One Thing You Would Change About DCL?

I have not cruised yet, booked my 1st cruise next April.
In my DVC thread someone said they would like DVC direct owners to automatically be given a fast track to Castaway Club status. This is my one thing as of now.
That would actually feel unfair to me. I could have bought into DVC if I didn’t sail so often with DCL. DVC members get perks like exclusive lounges—it is not like Pearl Castaway Club members have access to those. There are guests who’ve sailed 50+ times-should they get access to Moonlight Magic just for that? At some point, the perks reflect different choices, not necessarily greater loyalty.

I see what you are saying, makes sense. Since I never have cruised before Im still not sure how all of that works. I know they were referencing 3 cruises not 50 cruises, again no clue what 3 cruises even gets you.

Not much... because over all the Castaway Club perks are extremely watered down- I would say even more so than DVC perks (and at least with DVC you actually own something that you could resell if you wanted to)

It's too bad the exchange for DVC points into a DCL cruise is so over priced. Maybe thats my one thing instead 🤣

You said only one, but did not say anything about subdivisions of a, b, and c....so... Honestly, the newer Triton Class are beautiful ships and have been well-appointed (have not seen the Destiny yet), but...a) a larger adult area , b) a promenade that goes 'round one full deck and c) late(r)-night snacks...doesn't even need to be hot foods for me...just some snacks . (And...if I am so bold as to add a 'd'...then d) better directional signage as to where things are located around the ship and how to get to them (Hero obstacle course, the various lounges, which elevators go to which floors...etc). When I first sailed the Wish, I feel like I spent a good portion of time being lost and meandering about trying to find things. There! One!

I would like a buffet open all day or at least 6:00am-10:00pm. It was really nice on Princess. Or, like the International Cafe on Princess, have one spot that's open 24hours that actually has food like soup, salad and sandwiches. I feel like most of the in between meal time food items on Disney are either kid food or fried foods.

Add us to the list for better dinner alternatives. The option of Cabanas would be nice when we just aren't feeling the pirate night menu.
We actually like the pirate menu (the bbq beef rib salad and Shanghai stir fry noodles are both amazing), but we’d definitely like an anytime Cabanas dinner option, either a buffet or a menu-driven dinner like they used to have.

I sailed with my friend who has food allergies this February on the Treasure. We had to stay at dinner and preorder her breakfast, dinner the next day, lunch on CC . Our poor server had to hand write all the tickets for the allergy kitchen. Definitely would be easier if you could do this electronically in the app sort of like a mobile order in the parks. Our server was great dealing with my friend’s various food allergies.

Honestly not much comes to mind other than seconding enforcing 18+ spaces and times.

I feel like it's nice having a difference between lines - if you want a casino, there are lines that have that (and hey, Celebrity's is even non-smoking if that's an issue for you); if you want a buffet at dinner, there are lines that have that. If they all have the same stuff, then it won't matter which line you're on. They'd all be identical save for decor.

I would like to see the buffet open for dinner as it was before covid.
The buffet was never (at least since 2013) open for dinner. It was still a sit-down meal where you ordered from a menu cobbled together from the menus of the MDRs.

I would change the itinerary's. Given a second choice it would be the menus.

I was all set to mention more evening dining options other than the MDRs, but then I saw this. Yep, more varied itineraries specifically in the Caribbean. That is the one thing that would make us more likely to book our next cruise. I want stops in Belize, Honduras, more that go to Puerto Rico, St. Lucia, etc. Not just the same old ports.

I was thinking more in Europe, South America, Hawaii, but yeah Caribbean too. It seems like they have enough ships now, but yet they are putting two in Alaska. I think they do what makes them money and that's the short Bahamas cruises that families can afford.

They seem to be having trouble selling the Europe cruises. It could be a combination of price and stale itinerary, but what do I know I'm just the consumer that's not interested in consuming any of their cruises right now.

This is fairly specific, but, as a night owl, I'd love it if the gym would stay open until at least midnight. The late night schedule tends to be quite light, at least in terms of things I care about doing, whereas there tends to be way more stuff I'm interested in (character appearances, trivia, etc.) during the day/hours the gym is actually currently open.
