What is on your desk at work?

Do you have a desk/office/cubicle that is your workspace in an office? Or at home?

If so, how is it decorated?

I've heard that some companies will not allow personal touches to desk areas/offices and I can not even imagine working in a place like that. I'd go out of my mind.

Luckily my company is very appreciative of individual personalities and encourages us to decorate.

I have a large cubicile (one of the bigger ones in the office) and I have so much stuff on it, but everyone always compliments me on how NEAT it is (ie, not cluttered).

I have my walls decorated with photos, mostly as well as a few postcards featuring the artwork of some of my favorite fantasy artists (mostly fairies, dragons and unicorns). I also have some postcards with pictures of old buildings and cathedrals. I have a "puppy a day" calander. I also have a calander that I made up on word that lists when I have bills due and a few comic strips.

On my desk surface I have file folders , some books , framed photos, a old bottle I use as a vase (it's a mead bottle with a gorgeous picture of a knight and a lady on it called Chaucer's Mead). I have a handful of little toys (someone gave me a bunch of Nightmare before Christmas figures for Secret Santa last year). I also have a miniature PT cruiser that looks like my real car :)

I have a beanie baby of the Mayor of Halloween Town and a plush Punk Rock Hello Kitty (we publish the HK books here!) and a small plush Hedwig from Harry Potter.

I have a little fairie on a lilypad I use to hold paperclips :) Some mugs I use as pencil holders (Sally from Nightmare B$ Xmas for Pens, Hunchback of Notre Dame for pencils!) and a little mini "trunk" I keep push pins in. Lastly, I have a few cds and a beautiful but small paperweight of Tutankhamen.

On top of my monitor I have a cute plush unicorn beanie baby.

My bookshelves are full of books, mostly on Ancient Egypt and fantasy art. The top of my bookshelves is home to a few ceramic gargoyles peering down at me. :) (They look kinda like the ones on Notre Dame).

Again, all of this is ridiculously neat and not cluttered at all.

So what's on YOUR desk (that is not actual work...) ?

Ah - you get everything dumped on your desk too, eh? I frequently get stuff dumped in my in box that comes to me from people who apparently never made it past Day One of training, yet have been here for 15 years.

pictures of my dogger on the walls
a bunch of shrek 2 advertisements that people brought in for me (since i like shrek so much)
a shrek action figure
an eeyore figurine
5 empty bottles of water (heheh)

and a bunch of papers I keep moving around to make it seem like I'm busy

Don't you have some TPR Reports to look at

In addition to the crap that Monkeyboy referenced, I also have my Mickey Mouse desk set, 5 pictures of my daughter (b/c I miss her so much during the day), two pics of me and my husband, one pic each of my 2 nephews and my neice, and one pic of my Goddaughter (yes, I have a lot of pictures). Oh, and a picture of my cats (2 current, 2 past), it was not easy getting all 4 of them together for a picture. I also have my Mickey in a bottle that I got in December from the store at Pirates of the Caribbean and a Mickey clock b/c my computer clock never seems to be the right time. Fortunately, I have a very big desk.

TPS reports!! Get it right!! :p :p :p

You might giggle at TPS reports but we actually had a Hawaiian shirt day here! I kid you not. No one really got into it though.

i had a bare bones office until recently when the people i work with started saying my office looked like a prison cell!

i have 3 art prints of 1920's french advertisements for travel destinations, a bunch of pictures in frames, a plant, a u shaped desk, and a bunch of boxes since i am moving to a different office soon.

You should have seen Halloween around here -- about 1/2 the people really got into it. The other half just   and   at those folks.

On my desk, BTW, is a lot of papers, a Non Sequitur daily calendar, a golf clock and a couple pics of DS. :)

Let's see.... A Pooh bobble head. A princess Minnie antenna topper. My Wilderness Lodge Mug. Pictures of my neice, nephew & 2 godsons. A framed picture of my whole family in matching T-shirts in front of Cinderella's Castle at MK(on the wall). A picture of my DH(on the wall). A picture of the beach from our last cruise. A calendar (counting down the days until our next vacation) A strange clay sculpture my neice (9) made for me. A scented candle. Then just the usual office stuff---files, stapler, pens, phone, calculator, computer etc.

That is our one thing we can't have...we can not have plants. We can have cut flowers, but no plants (there are tons of plants around the office so I'm not really sure why). Oh- we also are not allowed to have small animals such as "hamsters, rabbits and fish". (yes , that is in our company guidebook).

Nothing on my desk at work but dust because SCHOOL'S OUT FOR THE SUMMER! However, during the school year I have that nifty keen Mickey desk set, a treasure chest (1st grade you know) and stacks of papers.

MVMCP pic of DH, DS & myself
3 mini Disney waterglobes, 1 lg
bulletin board is covered with Disney
Magical memories cert & btn from celebrating my b'day on the cruise
pink glass from NCL frozen drink
DCL notepaper & pen in stand
Mickey mug
Mickey hand cream
lime green mickey head candle (coworker gave to me)
school pic of DS

My desk is TOTALLY cluttered. But the clutter isn't my fun stuff. It's about 10 years of paperwork that people feel I should do... but I don't feel like doing it!
My personal stuff? I have some big Dilbert pictures (from a calender), some military cartoons, an Air Force Dancing Hampster that a friend got me, a picture of my boyfriend and I, a Disney-a-day calender, my old autograph book, some toys, etc.

I have one of those strange clay sculptures from a 9 yo neice as well. I think mine is supposed to be a "fish". :teeth:

Mickey desk set..
several Mickey figurines..
a Mickey Mirror...
2 Mickey mousepads

Mickey picture frame...
several 16x20 Framed Mickey prints....
and a collection of my Mickey / WDW photos...

Oh- we also are not allowed to have small animals such as "hamsters, rabbits and fish".

ok fish i can see, but who would bring in a hamster, or even worse, a RABBIT?!?!?!? :earseek:

we don't really have any rules about what we can display, but i try to keep it professional looking and i don't display any political stuff since i feel it would be inappropriate.

oh i forgot! in my "window" to the hallway i have this picture posted, facing the hallway:
