I am an Uber driver, have been for over a year. In Indiana, not Orlando, but the platform is the same no matter where you go. Tips are NOT INCLUDED. There is NO WAY to tip within the app at all. Lyft, which is another rideshare company, you can tip within the application. Uber deleted the ability within a year of launching. Yes, when you sign up as a new passenger, there is a place to mark for gratuity, but if you read it, that is for Uber TAXI. Those are cabs who run under the platform and are only available in some major cities, you would be requesting an Uber TAXI, not an UberX or UberXL, UberSelect, etc. If you would like to tip your driver, cash is mainly the only way. Some drivers carry card readers, think paypal, squaretrade, etc, most do not, I dont personally. Uber takes the first $1 of every fare for safe rider fee (*insurance) then the next 20 to 28% of the fare. So if you want to tip your driver, it is not required, but it is appreciated. Driving for Uber is how I paid for my trip, I love it!
As far as Uber saying it is cashless system, it is, They do not advertise the fact that you cannot tip within app....if you do not believe me, please google Uber and Tips for the truth...
