What is March like @ WDW?

We are planning a suprise trip for my DD 8th birthday. We have never been in March (3-9). How are the crowds & weather??

That is our favorite time to go. We used to go the first 2 weeks in March - before kids got too old and couldn't miss school. Temps's are great. Comfortable to do the parks and warm enough to want to swim. The crowds were low. And this was before fastpass.

I think it'll be wonderful. Enjoy! Wish we could go back in March too.

We went in March many times in the 80s and early 90s, before we got hooked on Christmas or F&WF season. Usually the weather was plenty nice for swimming, we never had too much rain. However, there was one year - maybe 92?? - that is was unseasonably cold. We ended up going shopping for jeans and jackets to keep warm. That doesn't happen often though, and if I'd paid better attention to the weather it wouldn't have been a big deal.

But on teh flip side we were there in March in 2001 and it was miserable. Cold (50's) and raining. Be prepared for a variety of weather conditions.

That was the same time we went. Decided on a time of year other than late August. We arrived to a warm 80 something (or so it felt). next morning woke to rain and 50's. Rained the whole week and stayed cold. We are sticking with August.

It really depends. We have been a number of times in March and most of the time it was good for most of the trip (70's to 80's) Great compared to the weather back home in Michigan. One year it was rather cold

March 97 good
March 98 cold, not too rainy just in the mid 50's for a few days, did warm up some
March 99 good
March 2000 good (one cold night)
March 2003 great (one rainy day, that is all, high in mid 80's the rest of the week.)

We are going Feb 35 to March 3rd this year so lets hope for great weather again.

Cold fronts do tend to come and go, but sometimes stay for 3 to 5 days. That can take up most of your week.

I will take March any day over Aug. Aug 2003 we were there for 10 days and got much less done because of the terrible weather and rain.
